I would like to give a fair and honest review. The place looks exactly as it is displayed in the pictures. Nice wall art and nicely decorated. I did have to ask for the door code the night before, and it was quickly provided. I did have a little trouble with the lock, not sure if it was operator error or the lock malfunctioning.Location is good since I had a conference at the Walter E. Washington Conference Center, which was a 15-min walk or a 6-min scooter ride.The road noise outside the apartment is pretty bad. There was a white noise machine provided, which helped a lot. The neighborhood seemed safe enough.I like to cook when I am away since I don't like to eat out. The pans were kind of cheap but functional.Overall, nice stay. I would prefer somewhere quieter next time though.

The property was consistent with the photographs and descriptions. Three major factors impacted my stay. The first is that the unit needs a serious soundproof window. The bedroom of the unit faces an extremely busy street. The sound of traffic begins at 4 AM and does not stop until around 1 AM the following day. I have stayed in many units in busy cities and have never experienced traffic noise as loud as this. The primary purpose of any rental unit is to ensure a good night sleep. The noise level of this unit prohibits that. The second area of concern is a cleanliness consideration. During my stay, I found several roaches and bugs throughout my weeklong stay I notified the owner and was advised that pest control had come rapidly. This did not stop the appearance of multiple roaches and other bugs during the week. The third area has to do with pest control as well but is more aligned with the demeanor of the owner with regard to guest satisfaction. On multiple occasions, I advised the owner that I had seen rats outside of the door to the unit. I had sent photos of the rats along with video and advised the owner of the exact location where the rats were emerging underneath a staircase that I passed by to enter the unit every day. The owner advised me that this was a citywide problem and that they couldn't do anything about it. When I pressed the issue with regard to a health concern, the owner told me a story about his experience at a local restaurant with rats but didn't fix
