Valentines weekend!

Nice hotel with bar check in. You get one free drink, which is nice. Wish they provided drink for my guest. The guacamole was delicious, and the rooftop restaurant/bar is a vibe. Lovely establishment.

We booked a bunk bed and you can not breath if you sleep in the top level. The heat vent is right next to your bed and it’s like 10 degrees hotter on top and the rest of the room

Out of my comfort zone

Parking was 60.00 a day, there is metered parking. The configuration of the room was horrible. The room was tiny and tight and tight to the point that I have bump on my knee from bumping my knee on the bed to get to the bathroom or the door. The room was like a bread box, wasn’t comfortable at all. There was hair in the shower and on the window sills of the room. At happy hour the three nights that I was there they never had the signature drink or they was always out of something the bartender seemed over it and snarky at times.

I recently stayed at the Moxy in Washington, DC, and while the hotel has a cool vibe and bar/rooftop and is in a good location, the experience itself was really disappointing. Especially since this was my first time staying at a Moxy, and I’ve wanted to stay at one for a while now. Starting with check-in, the front desk staff was rude and unwelcoming. The person who checked me in barely acknowledged me and didn’t provide any information about the hotel or my stay. To make matters worse, they gave me an inactive room key, so I had to go back downstairs to get a new one—without so much as an apology. The room itself was stylish but far from comfortable. It was small, the shower floor was slimy, the walls were paper-thin, and I could hear everything from my neighbors. The bed sank, the pillows were flat, and the water pressure was weak, making for an overall unpleasant stay. Valet parking is another letdown—at $60 per night, it’s pricey, but your car isn’t even garaged or covered; they just leave it out front (right where I originally parked it). On the plus side, the hotel decor is fun and well-designed, and the location is walkable, with plenty of restaurants nearby, as it’s downtown near Chinatown. But unfortunately, comfort and service matter just as much as aesthetics, and this stay didn’t deliver. I’m glad I didn’t stay more than a night and wouldn’t recommend booking a room here, at this specific location—I mean, others may be better…

The first room I had was occupied. So they upgraded my room for free. The room I ended up staying in was nice and has a nice view, but there was hair in the shower. Long black straight strands too. I have locs… dyed pink so it wasn’t my hair. Also the walls are thin asf and the doors close hard. I liked the aesthetics but I dont think I would stay there again.

Front desk staff was very polite, and the bartenders were attentive. However, it took over an hour after our check in time to get a room. The whole lobby was full of people waiting to get into rooms. When we got to the room our phone, WiFi and television did not work. Because of the check in issues for everyone, we could not address these problems for over 3 hours. The television and phone were sporadic at best and we had to call multiple times to fix it. The WiFi never worked in the room, only in the lobby.
