The room was clean and spacious and the staff were super friendly. But I was hoping the room was quieter but you can still hear traffic and construction probably because the windows are pretty old. The blinds and windows could be cleaner too. The Internet speed was slow. Having said all above, I would still rate it 4 out of 5. The neighborhood is nice and relatively close to everything.

I would definitely rate this hotel as excellent. The staff was great, the room is quite large and it was very quiet. The bed is very comfortable and I didn’t wake up a single time. Love the modern decor from the lamps to the tables, etc. Overall an A+ experience!

We won't return, but would work well for many.

Quaint hotel in a lovely, slightly off the beaten track, area of D.C.. Property needs a little TLC, but the general hotel, and our room, were very clean. Room was well sized. Kitchenette was tired, but had most of what we needed. The shower pressure was poor, and the sofa bed was awful. If you're travelling as a four in one room, perhaps consider other hotels who can appropriately accomodate; our 9 year olds were not impressed, and they love a sofa bed! The check in and out process was good, and the people/staff even better. If you're happy to walk 30 minutes (or metro in 15) to the sites, are not all about aesthetics, like a quiet spot, .can live with a weak shower, and value good staff, this is a decent hotel. Our issue was we value some of the aforementioned a little more than the hotel could offer.

We’ve stay at the River Inn multiple times this year and it truly feels like our home away from home when we are in DC. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect for us - near GW, the metro, lots of restaurants and an easy walk to the National Mall. We’ll be back next month.

The staff is very friendly and always makes me feel at home. The suites are spacious and attractive as well as functional with full kitchens. The gym is big enough, and kept at a cool temperature, which is much better than most hotel gyms. But this spring stay was disappointing. They had switched their HVAC system to Cooling, and it couldn't heat, even though it was quite chilly. I wasn't warned before booking, and not even when I registered at the desk. I get to a cold room a on a cold night and realize after an hour that the room isn't warning even though I'd turned up the thermostat. Guest services responded promptly, which was nice, and brought a spaceheater another 40 minutes later, which could have been better. The heater actually did succeed in warning the room in another hour, and I could finally get some rest. Not terrible, but guests deserve better.

Excellent hotel in a lovely neighborhood

The property was ideally located for getting around the city. There was a metro nearby and there were grocery stores nearby. The restaurant at the property was very good. Hotel staff were incredibly helpful and very personable. (The only thing missing were grab bars in the shower.) Overall, everything was excellent. I will definitely stay again in the future.

The room was nice especially the kitchen. Room was clean with the exception of some what looked like hair dye with the grout. Otherwise property was nice! Staff was very nice. Property is in a quiet neighborhood by the metro. Wish there were more restaurants nearby but it’s close to Whole Foods and the Kennedy center. Would recommend this property! Oh and the beds were very comfortable

Convenient location for most DC attractions. It is a hidden gem in the heart of Foggy Bottom neighborhood. Quaint restaurant conveniently located on the property. A short walk to the Metro station. Hotel staff are very friendly and courteous. My suite was spacious and comfortable. It included a kitchenette. I will stay here again for future visits to DC.

Housekeeping Nonexistent

Everything was great, except the attrocious housekeeping. The handsoap and bodywash were near empty at checkin, and on Day 2, our request to refill them went all day without being fullfilled. We arranged for the room to be cleaned on Day 3, but housekeeping never cleaned. This is the first time at any hotel for which I have left no tip for the housekeeping, but honestly, they didn't do any. I cannot recommend the River Inn and will not stay there again. Too bad, because everything else was great.
