Thomas Telford Lettings takes its name from the prolific Scottish engineer who planned the hamlet of Stein for the British Fisheries Society in 1790 and oversaw the building of The Old Church and adjacent Manse. Over the last two years The Old Church has been painstakingly restored to create something very special.

Situated within The Old Church east side overlooking Loch Bay the Priest Nest forms one side of the renovated Historic Building. Main door entrance with luxurious self contained accommodation over two levels.

Over the last two years the The Priests Nest has been painstakingly restored to a luxurious standard. Original features including stone and timber floors give an impression of the original church design but within a contemporary setting. The contrast between old and new is striking.

We are proud of what has been achieved - a new and sustainable future for a historic building in a dramatic setting overlooking Loch Dunvegan and the Hebrides.

Contemporary accommodation within a historic setting we believe Telford would be proud of. Externally the Old Church, byre and gardens reflect the original plans but inside awaits a magical combination of contemporary living and eclectic design. Nothing similar exists on Skye.

Staying at the The Priests Nest is not for the faint hearted. Art works, antiques, and interior finishes collected over many years combine to lift the spirit. Its quirky and somewhat unorthodox characteristics are for those looking for a very different stay on the Isle of Skye.

Amazing stay

This was a really special place to stay. They have done a beautiful job restoring the old church into a comfortable and chic residence. It has all the creature comforts and has so much character. It's far from the crowds, but the nearby Stein Inn is the perfect place for a nice dinner if you don't feel like cooking. If you are cooking, they even have a lovely herb garden for your use. Great stay!
