Excellent location everything you need is within walking distance. Buffet breakfast was also delicious. Overall, a good stay only issues was the parking was problematic we had trouble getting in and out every day despite the fact we paid for parking for the entirety of our stay. Housekeeping also came way too late everyday - we would be out most of the morning and return early afternoon to put our young children down for their naps and housekeeping wouldn't be done.

This is a great location with excellent parking option if you are coming by car. The access to the main CBD is unfaultable. Staff were friendly. Room was clean. Some facilities were not available but it was Easter weekend.

Room was excellent. There were a few issues with the elevators with only half of them in working order. Waiting time was up to 10 mins in some cases. Cafe open hours were limited which was disappointing. Overall a good experience with friendly staff and was handy to the cbd.

The fact there was only 1 lift working up and down the Hotel, No instructions about changing lifts when you go to carpark or how to use them, And why all the carpark cards, why not just have 1 card, to get in room, to use on lifts and to get in and out of the carpark?

Once again, a pleasure staying at James Cook, Hotel Grand Chancellor. I've been staying here for years, originally for work and nowadays to explore Wellington with my young family. Often a neat vibe in the hotel lobby bar, amazing buffets in the restaurant and so convenient to the CBD.
