Main shops and the Te Papa museum within a short walk. If you are a light sleeper I could hear music two of the 3 nights until about 03:50 in the morning. We were on the 4th floor.. When I raised this with the reception I was told it must be one of the surrounding bars which are licenced until 4:00. Room was very clean and made up daily. No breakfast. We tried to access the “free drinks” in the lobby a couple of times but locked. Staff friendly.

Good central location, comfortable bed and decent sized rooms. Shower could have been cleaner and it was quite noisy - hearing other room doors open and close loudly and water pipe noise would be frustrating if you’re a light sleeper. Coffee bags in the room aren’t great but the free coffee machine in the lobby is a good alternative - individual machines in rooms would be better rather. Free juice and fruit bowl is a nice touch.

Room 002 appeared to have been converted from a storage space - in fact there was access to storage via the fake window in the room. So no natural light or air flow. It was also noisy - the lift machinery we believe and we could hear other guests using their bathrooms as it seemed to flow through pipes next to our room.
