Staff very nice and helpful, very knowledgeable about the history of the building. Best breakfast in a long time, quality bacon, sausage and black pudding.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, with host Paul, giving useful anecdotes on Whitby, places to visit and things to see. Weather was a bonus.
Great weekend stay, lovely guest house. Clean rooms and great breakfast. Thanks to our friendly hosts Helen and Paul

The owners were friendly and chatty. Breakfast was excellent. There was a timing system for each room to sit down which meant that there was no waiting to be served. The house itself is a typical guest house, there was scaffolding up when we visited which worried us until we were inside. My friends room was large and the bathroom was clean. I was on the third floor in an attic space, it had half ceilings with sloping sides that I had to duck under. There was very little water pressure up there so I could not wash my hair properly. The guest house is up the hill, most of Whitby is on a hill, but it is well situated for the town with a hop on hop off stop a minutes walk away. There is a nice park close by and the museum is in that park.

70s throwback if that’s your thing !!
When we stayed there was building work being done.. got woke up in the morning with builders working… the view from our room was basically scaffolding… not impressed… when we arrived we were informed that we had to book a breakfast time slot … find this quite ridiculous seeing as the breakfast times are between 8:15-9:00…. 45 minute window is simply not enough… (no breakfast on 2nd day)
Outdated properly in need of a facrlift. Owners didnt make us feel especially welcome and indeed we felt we were putting them out asking for a cooked breakfast which was served in a very narrow time frame.
No food/drinks alliwednin toom, we were tokd rooms are for sleeping in and overpriced foe what they offer.
We have been in many B&B's but will not be back at this one.
Really enjoyed our stay at the Boulmer the owners were very welcoming , informative and helpful. The property is very clean nicely decorated and well equipped. The room we stayed in was very cosy, had everything we needed and the beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was very enjoyable. We would definitely recommend a stay at this lovey guesthouse. I'm sure we will be booking again in the not to distant future.
We had a wonderful stay just after Christmas at the Boulmer. Paul was very friendly and helpful and welcoming after a long drive. Breakfast was great too. It was our first time in Whitby and the accommodation was perfectly placed, less than 10 minutes to the beautiful harbour. No problem parking on the street.
Scrupulously clean and spacious room. Knowledgable and hospitable hosts gave us loads of tips on where to go and what to see and helped keep the children occupied! They loved that their toast came in animal shapes!
We had a lovely weekend very family friendly recommended places to go and how to get there seemed very knowledgeable about the area pointed out places we didn’t know about it ‘s been a good few years since we were in whitby
Friendly and quite place to stay. All very clean and a great breakfast.wished that we could have stayed longer and we will return. It's on the west side of town so a short walk down hill into town( pubs , shops, etc) and easy 4 minute flat walk to the top of the West Cliff, with it's magnificent views of the sea, harbour and abbey . Would highly recommend and it's in a good location.
