The room i had was very small but ok for one night Hotel very clean breakfast very good Great welcome and very friendly will definitely be stopping there again

Fantastic hotel

Really enjoyed our stay here. Fantastic hosts in Martin and Vanessa, really friendly and informative. The room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel itself is ideally located, within touching distance of the centre of town. Breakfast was really nice aswell. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back.

Mostly good.

Pros: Location, breakfast.
Cons: Better mattress, (too soft !)
Location: Lots of pubs, abbey, beach....
Good location for bars, attractions, breakfast very good, room quite small, but comfortable and functional with a small fridge stocked with milk and bottled water. Room overlooks rear of building, with view of wheelie bins ! We stayed for 3 nights over a bank holiday weekend, and thought the near £100 a night was a bit expensive. Sadly, as my wife and I consider ourselves well behaved, polite, considerate guests, both aged 60+, I was quite shocked when, following a brief chat not long before we set off to go home, about an amusing,unusual personal experience, Martin, after appearing to show interest, turned away saying "That's nice"! As this remark had no bearing on anything that had been said, (in fact it seemed quite nonsensical), it could only have been a reference to a scene in an episode of Mrs Brown where "That's nice" was an amusing substitute for "Fe..Off". Martin obviously believed, or hoped I would not know. Whilst I remember finding this joke funny among my friends when it was first broadcast, I find it unacceptable for a hotel owner to use it on a paying guest he has just met !

Well located with a warm welcome!

3 nights in a clean, modern, comfortable top floor room kept us fit. Wide selection of Cooked breakfast options are pre-ordered by 8 pm the night before with cereal, fruit, yoghurt, tea, coffee & juice available too. Owners are friendly & helpful. A 4 day parking permit is provided for zone W; street parking is limited. Walking distance to the harbour & within easy reach of all Whitby has to offer. We'd return if in Whitby again.
