Avila is close to many restaurants and shopping. It felt safe and was clean. It was quiet, since the beach wasn’t really an attraction for those not staying at the resort. (Other hotels invite non-guests to fill the beaches and make money on the chair rentals) The two separate beaches were lovely. The rock walls shelter the lagoon from big waves but also invite lots of colorful fishes. Snorkeling was great right at the hotel. The bars and restaurants were nice to have, but we did venture offsite for most meals. The prices were in line with other places on the island. Cocktails were about $14 USD each. The rooms are basic but clean. We did have a little mix up where we booked 2 queens, but they gave us a king the first night. They brought a rollaway, and my young son just slept with my husband and me. They moved us the next day. FYI - They say you are only booking the room class, and the # of beds cannot be guaranteed. All of the Alliance wing rooms have at least a partial ocean view. The room has a small fridge, and they provide reef safe sunscreen and bug spray. Reef safe sunscreen is also available for free by the towel stand. Avila has entertainment Wed-Sun which is nice and not too loud. The grounds are maintained nicely. The pool isn’t huge but is a nice option. There are plenty of sun chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas (for free) at the pool and beaches. Parking is also free, and some covered parking is available. If we were to return to Curacao, I would stay here again.

It was a nice place to stay. It is at the beach with two lagoons to swim in. Sea was rough so we could not snorkel as we planned. Food was good. Service impeccable. We had one complaint which was taken care of immediately. This is a resort that is close to city activities.

Brilliant hotel in the heart of Petermaai. Room was spacious and clean with a comfortable large bed and huge bath. We had lunch several time at the Pen restaurant whilst we were enjoying the stunning hotel beaches, with excellent snorkelling. We also had dinner there a couple of times and at the Blues restaurant, which has a beautiful ceiling and is a situated over the water. The hotel is well located for excellent restaurants within just a few minute walk and not far to walk to Punda or Otrabanda. Great parking facilities for our rental too. Honestly if we could have extended our stay we would have! No hesitations in recommending.

The property was great. The staff greated you with a glass of juice tasted delicious. The staff was very nice all of them that we came across. The room is ok except if u turn off the air conditioner the room will be full of water so dont turn it off at all. The grounds was beautiful. The food for me was nothing to talk about . I mostly eat the buffet breakfast which was basic . The food i think needs improvement. Over all i love it there. Love the balcony also.

Beautiful well manicured grounds, two safe lagoons and pool, tasty food and options for dining, service was top notch and friendly, room was good, on the beach! This hotel is conveniently located nearamy quality dining and bar options, within walking distance to restaurants, and walkable to Pounds, Bridge, downtown. On a bus line to Mambo Beach also. Overall an excellent choice for couples or families. This facility takes pride in their history.
