Make a reservation to their restaurant the Blue Caribbean at check in for the nights they have live music so you can sit inside. Don’t have to wake up early to go get a spot on the beach. Sleep in and still be able to find a nice spot to chill at the beach.

Great, comfy hotel. Restaurants and drinks are above what I would expect from a hotel. The two private beaches are amazing. We had so much fun snorkeling there after spending the day at other beaches on the island.

My husband and I stayed at Avila Beach Hotel for 7 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The beach was lovely, with two lagoons full of fish to observe, and the staff were attentive and polite. I’d definitely recommend adding a breakfast package to your stay—the selection and quality were very good, and the omelette station let you order eggs just the way you like them. However, I’m glad we didn’t add dinners. While there’s more variety if you eat meat, as a pescatarian I found the options limited, and for vegetarians the selection and value for the price were not great. That said, I’d highly recommend the BBQ night at the Pen restaurant—it was excellent. A few things to keep in mind: this is more of a European-style resort, so be prepared to encounter people smoking on the beach. Smoking is also allowed on the balconies of some wings. During the first half of our stay we were lucky, but for the rest of the week our mornings and evenings on the balcony were less pleasant because of that unpleasant smell. Overall, we were happy with our choice of a hotel and would definitely stay again (but next time - in a non-smoking part :) ).

While the property is every bit as beautiful and excellent as others have mentioned, the house keeping was not great. We stayed in the Oceanfront Blues and did not have fresh towels for 3 days. We had to ask 4 times to get our room serviced. Maybe we were just unlucky.

First off I’ll start off by saying the hotel was very nice and the staff was super friendly and courteous. Check in process went smooth and they gave us a free drink. After the first day day we woke up and noticed many ants on one of our beds and we asked the front desk if they could take care of it while we stepped out. We came back later that day and they had said they took care of it but there were still some ants around the desk. We asked if there was another room that we wouldn’t mind sleeping in a smaller room but they sent someone up with ant spray that he proceeded to put around the surrounding areas where there were still some ants. Guessed it work for a bit because we didn’t see any ants for 2 days but we then again woke up one day with a lot of ants on the one of the beds again. Again we told the front to see what would be done about it but instead of giving us a smaller room somewhere ant free they just sent housekeeping to change the sheets. A bit of a shame because the hotel was very nice and we didn’t want this to be a bad experience since the staff was friendly but unfortunately upper management didn’t want to permanently solve the problem by giving us a downgraded room.

Avila Hotel was clean and had parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and comfortable bed. My favorite was the history of the hotel. It’s a living museum. The private beach is top tier.

Room was spacious, and clean. Beach area was great. Staff was nice. Found the resort lacked in entertainment. Nothing going on. Food right outside the Hotel was excellent. The Blues Bar was good. The Pen, for breakfast was ok. Need variety, everyday was the same food. I feel they should do a Buffet at lunch or dinner! The Pen for Lunch the service was too slow.
