Wilmington Range Chalet has beautiful real round log exterior walls, cedar and pine ceilings, hardwood floors, and large log beams, with a huge 12`x24` ft exterior deck overlooking the Ausable River, and a master bedroom balcony over cedar logs, and a river`s edge seating area. The log house is built almost over the Ausable River, set amid some towering white pines on the steep river bank, at the end of a 300ft driveway with the neighbors` houses set well away along the roadside frontage. The sounds of the West Branch of the Ausable River, or the wind through the pines from atop the cedar balcony, are the only thing one hears from the house, despite being located most conveniently only 1 minute to the center of the small town of Wilmington and it`s various shops. The log house is built overlooking the Ausable River, set amid some tall white pines on the steep river bank, and set well back from the road frontage.

The world class town of Lake Placid is just 15 minutes away, with fine dining and shopping, and it`s the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks with the best access for hiking. Keene Valley, a hiker`s destination, is also just 15 minutes away. And of course, Whiteface Mt ski area is just up the road 5 minutes away. The Ausable River is world famous for its fly fishing, and you can even enjoy your private fishing area on the bank in front of your vacation home. Wilmington is really located in a great area of the Adirondacks - it`s the ski and mountain biking capital of the Adirondacks, and 15 minutes away from the best hiking in New York State.
Wilmington Range Chalet features a large deck with views of the Wilmington Range mountains and overlooking the Ausable River and with Adirondack cedar chairs. A long staircase leads from the house down to a magical riverside seating deck down by the river`s edge. A BBQ gas grill is available for your use (propane provided), canoe for guests use on nearby ponds, and a firepit with plenty of complimentary wood to burn! (read firewood policy posted at firepit.)

The first floor of the 1400 sq. foot house follows an open floor plan concept with kitchen, dining, and living rooms, plus a full bath and laundry room and bedroom with queen bed. Enjoy the cozy gas fireplace with real flames, while looking out the window toward the Wilmington Range. Radiant in-floor heating throughout the house also provides warmth and coziness, and in the hotter summer months, the natural thermal properties of logs keep the house cool, along with french bi-fold doors opening onto the deck for fresh air. An A/C unit is provided in the hotter months to keep the house cool as well. The kitchen is on the smaller side yet still fully equipped for you to make lovely meals if you so wish. Upstairs is the master suite area including loft seating area and bath. The bedroom featuring a walkout balcony, and mountain and river views from the king size bed. The upstairs bathroom is entirely of slate tile and red cedar, with a large jacuzzi hot-tub. There is a large loft area, which can enjoyed as a lounging area for the master suite, or desk working area, or kids sleeping area with both a made up twin bed, and also a comfy futon that can lay out flat for children.

Guests will have the whole private home to themselves and will arrive and depart on their own, likely without meeting anyone their entire time. No one will be there to personally welcome guests. A key code will be given prior to arrival.

Wildernesscapes Gallery is located on the road frontage portion of this deep lot, with your private driveway leading beyond the photo gallery to the cabin beyond. This gallery features the Adirondack landscape photography of the cabin owner Johnathan Esper, and is not staffed and only visited on a weekly basis on average, during daylight hours only. This gallery does not imping on your privacy or peace and quite, although you must drive past it to get to your cabin. Guests are welcome to enjoy visiting the gallery during their stay, just ask for the door code for a self-guided visit.

• Arrival time is 3:30pm or later, and check-out time is 10:30am or earlier. No exceptions to this, unless otherwise clearly arranged. Failure to abide by departure time may result in late check-out fee, or even an extra night charge levied. Early arrivals may be denied entrance to house if housekeeping is still ongoing.
• A pair of Keys will be left on the premises in a key lock box mounted on the electric meter panel box cedar pedestal, located alongside the driveway. Key code will be given upon booking. Check your message received after booking
• No Shoes worn in house. Shoes must be left in the slate tile entrance hallway. Slippers if you wish are in the coat closet.
• Dogs are permitted, for an extra pet fee of $25 per night per dog. Special dog rules pertain, please make sure you read through those. Only behaved and trained dogs are permitted on property. • No Smoking of any kind in the house, and no smoking outside near open windows or doorways. No tossing of cigarette butts outside. Any smoking smell found in house will incur a smoking cleaning fee, of $200-$400.
• Egregious dirty messes left will incur an additional cleaning fee. Extended housekeeping or cleaning required after your stay, beyond the normal amount of time it should take, will also incur an extra cleaning fee.
• Excessive consumption of alcohol and drunkenness on the premises is prohibited. Recreational drug use is strictly forbidden. While alcohol is permitted, this is not a party house. Extra cleaning fees or damage incurred as a result of alcohol consumption will be debited from the security deposit if necessary.
• Respect the outside property. Do not damage trees or structures. The house is situated on a narrow lot down to the river, so respect the neighbors` property please and retrain from going on it.
