A good location, great breakfast and friendly hosts combined for a lovely stay. I used the health club and went at a quite busy time (after work slot), I would advise visiting outside the peak hours if you can. Facilities at the gym/spa were great, it was just busy and not as clean etc as a result. Overall a great stay and will stay again next time i am in the area.

This property is on the Lake Road, a main road that runs from Windermere to Bowness. Bus stops are nearby and fairly frequent and can take you into nearby Windermere, if you don't want to walk, or other parts of the Lake District eg Grasmere. The property itself is lovely, slightly rustic, but I like that 'home from home' feel. Our room (Kingsize) was very well laid out, had useful amenities and quite comfortable. One small gripe, which Richard warned us about, is the wardrobe not closing properly, and it didn't 😞, hopefully it's fixed by now. Breakfast was a feast of pastries, cereal, yoghurt, fruit juices and fresh fruit and a menu for additional hot choices. I couldn't finish my breakfast on the last day (a brekkie kebab), so Ada kindly wrapped it for me to take away. No complaints at all. Thank you Rich and Ada for making our stay very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for either of you and you and you were both extremely helpful when we asked for information and advice. Adrian & Jo

Honestly one of best places I have stayed. Such a lovely area and Richard was amazing. He was very kind and very helpful. Everything was amazing from the room to the breakfast in the morning. Definitely will be planning on staying again. Me and my friend really loved our stay and both agreed to stay again.

Chose this due to the location And the benefits of the health spa We were disappointed that the health spa was not on site as when booking it was advertised but this has been changed On arrival the hosts are most accommodating and very friendly, Property is outstandingly clean through out . Breakfast has a lot of choices which is nice and very good quality My only gripe is not a fan of pre ordering and specific times

St Johns lodge is located conveniently to various amenities around bowness and windermere. rooms and facilities are top notch. Hosts Rich and Ada took personal interest to ensure the stay went well. Excellent breakfast. cherry on top was the free offsite spa facilities we had access after a long tiring hike.

Best breakfast in Windermere 😊

A wonderful stay at this charming guest house. Our hosts Rich and Ada were very welcoming and gave us recommendations on places to eat and walks to enjoy in the local area. We had a tastefully decorated small double room which was spotless and although compact very comfortable with everything we needed including a mini fridge. Breakfasts were delicious, fantastic choices, beautifuly presented and fresh local ingredients. Lovely little garden at the back. Very easy walk to both Windermere proper and Bowness, ten mins each way. A lovely stay, we will return.

Rich was so helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The whole place is spotless I really don't know how he keeps everywhere so clean .Also the attention to detail, a fridge, fresh milk, good toiletries ,cotton buds etc I can't praise the place enough.
