The Lodge was the perfect getaway for my partner and I. From the rustic wooden cottage, cool trinkets, beautiful gardens, open fireplace and proximity to town - you can't go past Richards amazing accommodation. I would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet break in a spectacular bush setting.

The place was wonderful. The fireplace was very effective with all the wood chopped perfectly to fit in the fireplace. The location is just far enough away from the centre of town to give privacy. Also, it was wonderful seeing the frogs and hearing the lyrebird sing in the morning. Definitely coming back

On arrival the welcome sign with my name on it was a thoughtful gesture. Also the wine and chocolates were lovely. As soon as I walked into the cabin I felt instant relief and destress. I love all the wood inside the the cabin. Then when I went outside in the undercover area the hugh grapevine blew me away. All the grapes on there were beautiful, I just stared at it. I love my plants and gardening. The seating area outside was great and the wooden table was very nice. Saw lots of birds they came to the bird bath and even saw 2 deer in the bottom paddock. If you want to unwinde this is the place to go and chill. Thanks Richard you have been a great host. Will be back again. Cheers!

The Lodge exceeded all our expectations! It's simply wonderful and we cannot wait to come back. The historic nature of the property was particularly appealing. My partner and I could not recommend this place more! It is secluded, yet a comfortable walk into town. The surrounding bushland and river make for such a beautiful location. The hosts couldn’t have been more wonderful and accommodating, we didn’t arrive until later in the evening and they had set the fire up for us, making the cottage warm, cosy and so inviting from the get-go. The cottage was well stocked with seasonings, tea, coffee and cooking essentials - making home cooking easy and enjoyable. We will be back!

Our stay at the lodge was fantastic. The warm cosy fire in the combustion stove upon our arrival created a beautiful ambiance. The lodge has everything you need to enjoy a getaway in the beautiful Wollombi valley. Communication with the owner was easy and we loved the thoughtful welcoming touches.
