Lovely team that work at the hotel and restaurant. Great location to quickly be in the middle of Würzburg and to walk over the Main River to the other side. I was just a little disappointed with the size of my room this time, especially since I was traveling with my dog. It was a little tough to maneuver in the room with two suitcases and a dog. My room in April 2024 was more comfortable. Nonetheless, we managed and enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately a lot of construction, so work trucks etc in front of the entrance. Barebones in room; no coffee machine, 2 tissues left in the box, no bathroom supplies except for soap, one pillow each and rooms only get serviced every 3 days! I understand not replacing towels and sheets every day to be “environmentally friendly” but straightening sheets and making sure tissues are filled shouldn’t be too much to ask? On a positive note, the staff are very friendly and view is lovely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It felt like we were staying in a bed and breakfast with a lovely restaurant. We were there for two nights and had a nice visit and really enjoyed eating in the restaurant one night. The breakfast was very enjoyable as well! The staff were very helpful with suggestions.

Wahlfisch is an excellent choice of hotels right on the Main River and within minutes to shopping and attractions in Würzburg. The twin beds in single rooms is not what Americans are typically used to, but they are comfortable and adequate.

Awesome place to stay!

Absolutely lovely place, clean double room, even had a private garage for your car/motorcycle. Staff were always wonderfully polite and friendly, and located close to the city center, 10-15min walk from 3-4 massive historical monuments, (castle, palace, church).

A nice moderately priced hotel across the river from the Fortress Marienberg. Conveniently located within 5 minutes of the tram. Easy walking to the town center as well. The rooms are a bit small, I had a twin but good enough for a few nights stay if one is organized with their belongings. Wish they had a refrigerator in the room as that would be helpful.

Site advertises laundry facilities. There are none. Desk clerk said we could send out to be laundered and MIGHT be back in two days. Also, asked at desk how to turn on HVAC system. Reply always it’s not working. Asked when fixed. Replied next week like who cares. Had to ask someone else for help. At least he provided a fan. Room was hot and stifling without air flow. Paid a high price for a hotel without a working air flow system.

Comfortable charming hotel by the river

Great location right by the river. Our 2 single beds room is small but has everything we need. The bathroom door is glass so if someone turns on the light in bathroom, the whole room is lighted. Maybe a watch out for a light sleeper.

This property has very good location: right besides the Main river. You can see the Marienberg Fortress right outside the hotel, and can also walk to the Residenz in 10 min.

If you are booking this hotel because the listing says they have a king bed then find another place to stay. They have NO king beds according to the front desk. The Expedia listing clearly states king bed. False advertising. Buyer beware!
