Ok stay but could be better
Communication was lacking on this booking. I didn’t receive an email beforehand with details of how to obtain key to the property, after reaching out i did get it just in time for our arrival.
The cottage was plenty big enough for 4 of us but we found that the cleanliness was not up to our standards. Plenty of dust on all skirting boards behind beds etc, the sofas were really uncomfortable & sagging & there was not enough hot water for us all to have a shower in the mornings, let alone a bath!
It lacked extras such as an extra t towel & a hand towel in the kitchen, more coasters, a hook on the bathroom door as there is nowhere to put anything? The skylight window & wall on the landing was filthy & clothes from a previous occupant was found in drawers so these hadn’t been checked in previous occupancy.
Not sure if the owner is aware but the draught coming from the kitchen window was bad! A blind at the kitchen door would be good too for privacy!
However, the cottage is in within easy walking distance to the town centre & ideal for York Minster & the christmas markets

Great for a family!
Great location within the York walls and walking distance to train station. Groceries available just down the street. Well stocked kitchen and clothes washer on site. Very nice, clean, and comfortable.

Excellent location for weekend in York - quiet and historic. Clean, well equipt, comfy beds, good shower. Worth paying for secure parking space right outside cottage door. Would love to go back one day.
Lovely accommodation in the centre of a lovely city. Lots of history (literally) next door, with great restaurants nearby and very friendly folk. A fantastic family weekend
