Couldn’t fault the hotel in anyway, staff were excellent and would do anything for you. Breakfast was great and plenty of it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a pleasant stay.

Very good value and breakfast included!

I loved staying here because the bed was comfortable, there was special soap and shampoo in the shower room and toilet, the staff were mostly friendly and courteous. Getting there was difficult by public transport I would say but there's a great Carvery next door. My double room was spacious with a fine telly (although the controls took some getting used to! - as I'm an older person but not old) I would definitely consider returning. There were no chests of drawers but I didn't mind - hangers though. I liked the door in the toilet! Well done to the staff in the hotel.

Comfortable stay

Convenient location just outside of York. Friendly receptionist who gave me some taxi numbers in case I needed them later on in the evening. Good breakfast with nice selection. Comfortable bed, good powerful shower thankfully with shampoo provided as I’d forgotten it!

Ok for a short break. Make sure you drive

2 night couples’ break for a birthday celebration. Double bed small and didn’t have particularly great sleep. Breakfast good and staff very friendly. We didn’t bring the car as we decided to come on the train to York and we didn’t realise that whilst it’s only 3 miles from the centre, there’s no main / regular bus service or hotel mini bus which would be really helpful for guests (even with a cost attached) Instead it cost us £12-£15 each single way trip. Please bear that in mind !!! It does have an impact on your overall spend for the time away.

Great hotel option for York and LNER Stadium.

Great stay at a very well positioned hotel. Handy for the LNER Stadium and all the shops / restaurants on the site. Toby Carvery right next to the hotel too so spoiled for choice. Efficient and friendly check in, good comfy room with decent facilities and good breakfast options. A very good stay and would recommend this hotel for anyone saying in the York area. Not as central as some hotels but a handy option with free parking and not far from the centre.

Lovely, Friendly and Efficient Staff

Myself and a friend stayed at the Holiday Inn on 19th March and planned to go shopping at the McArthur Glenn and Monks Cross. We were disappointed at first as there were no lift but the Manager sorted out a room on the ground floor as my friend has got mobility problems. The receptionist and the Manager were very friendly, efficient and knowlegeable, they sorted out the subtitles on the tv and gave details of a taxi company. At breakfast the Manager was clearing tables, checking out guests, and making sure all guests were happy with their breakfast. The only thing I would state is that I would have thought a hotel catering for disabled people would have had a lift.

Lovely clean and friendly staff. Rooms large and comfortable with ironing boards and hairdryer in them if needed. Self controlled heating and fan also available. Breakfast plentiful ranging from fruit and yoghurt through to cereal and full english.

We love staying here as it is convenient with shops near by. Hotel is very clean and amazing breakfast. Friend stuff. Only complaint is that bleach is need inside toilet. But apart from that definitely highly recommended.
