The staff were all really friendly and attentive. I requested an outdoor dome pagoda for me and my daughter to have our evening meal in and they were more than happy to help. The room was very clean and the decor was stylish. We had a lovely stay.

Unfortunately, on both days of my stay the water in the room was cold. I contacted the concierge on the first day, who kindly came to the room and confirmed the issue. I was reassured that it would be resolved. However, the same problem occurred again on the second day. I requested that the matter be escalated to the manager and asked to receive an email confirming that the issue would be investigated and addressed. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response. I followed up with the staff once more, but again no reply was provided. It is a lovely family hotel, and overall the atmosphere is pleasant. However, it was disappointing to feel that my concerns were not acknowledged or followed up appropriately.

Nice hotel. Staff are friendly. Location is good walking distance to York city centre. Nice facilities. Wifi is weak. I had a room next to railway but it was not bad. Parking is a bit difficult and had to pay daily.

The room was in basement level, I would not describe it as a “superior room”. The bed and shower was clean but the carpet and rest of the room was a little shabby. You had to walk through a toilet section to get to the room and this smelt quite bad. In the morning all the rooms were woken on our second morning at 7:50 by banging on all the windows and a workman shouting loudly on the phone. The neighbouring room actually starting banging back in the window because it was so loud. The second morning we were woken at 8am by someone hoovering in the corridor, considering the checkout time was 11am this was very early to be banging around and using a hoover right outside our door. The staff themselves were lovely though, especially on the reception, very thoughtful with recommendations and friendly chitchat.

The hotel is excellent , very clean and with a perfect location. The only problem I see was the size of Room 126. This room was let to us as a double for 2 people. This room is more of a double with single occupancy or a large single room but NOT a double for double occupency. Another point to rermember is that the car parking charges are astronomical . Apart from this. lovely hotel.
