Wonderful!

This vrbo was a very pleasant surprise! Easy to find, close to the center of town. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see! The flat was clean, modern, easy to operate appliances, etc. We cooked several meals during our stay. I would absolutely stay here again! Don’t miss the Minster-take the 258 stairs to the top; it’s worth it!

The property is lovely and has everything you need for a comfortable and safe stay. It’s in a great location just minutes walk from the centre, with restaurants and shops literally on your doorstep. The owner responded as quickly as she could to any questions and was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this property.

We had problems getting into the place as there were no keys in the lock box. We almost booked a hotel for the night. Luckily the owner sent someone with keys just in the nick of time. We found it tedious to try to understand how the oven and microwave worked. The apartment was in an excellent location, close to groceries and attractions.. York is a wonderful city with lots to explore.

Good location with easy parking

The flat was in a nice neighborhood and very quiet for the most part. Most all amenities in the listing were accurate and available. We had to go out to buy a bar of soap and shampoo upon arrival but shopping is very close by. Strong smell of tobacco smoke in the hallways that worsened during our stay. No odor in the flat.

York- so much to see

There is so much to see in York and surrounding area. Our 3 day visit wasn't nearly long enough. Our accommodations were in the perfect spot to walk get around to see so many attractions. Shopping, informational walks, art exhibits, historic sites and restaurants were all within an easy walking distance. Our host suggested many places to see and had a variety of leaflets on hand for us to peruse and help us decide where to go. I would definitely book this flat again if return to York.

Staying at 4 Queen's Court, Fetter Lane, York

We had 3 lovely days in central York and this flat is certainly extremely convenient for sightseeing - only 15 mins walk to the Minster and other famous buildings. The flat was immaculate, airy, spacious and well-equipped and in a pleasant, quiet area. Before our visit, our host, Debbie, had emailed very useful information about the flat, city and restaurants and we can certainly recommend dining at Mumbai Lounge and Enoteca by L'Uva. We hope to return one day. (The only negative point (which has nothing to do with the flat) was the very strong smell of cigarette smoke in the entrance lobby.)

Clean, quiet and well set-up

Location was perfect for walking to any of the major attractions, yet was very quiet and calm. Probably one of the cleanest places we've been to. Very organized and responsive host. We appreciated how well it was set up for guests. Read the host's instructions carefully and you'll be fine. However, I'm glad my husband was there to help access the key to check in, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to.

Clean comfortable flat in the city centre

When I stay in a hotel or rental accommodation, the most important two things to me are 1) comfortable bed, and 2) that everything should be clean. This flat scores full marks in both areas. The bed was more comfortable than mine at home. The flat is situtated in a good area, away from the main tourist/nightlife hotspots and close to amentities like restaurants, supermarkets and cafes. It’s very close to the River Ouse and the paths on both sides of the river which are really popular for walks. It’s not a large flat but it’s big enough, certainly if you have younger kids. The kitchen is well equipped and has a table which can double as a desk if you need to work. The flat is nicely decorated and feels homely. No problem with parking, even with a large estate car, and it’s secured by a gate with electronic access. You need a code and two keys to get into the flat so it feels safe too, but that shouldn’t be a problem in York. The shower is part of the bath and it has plenty of heat and power. Getting out might be tricky if you are older or have restricted movement. The only negatives were some neighbour noise, mainly from upstairs footsteps, and sofas which are a bit ‘tired’. The noise wasn’t antisocial as such, no loud music or shouting, and it was not a problems late at night or early morning. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, communication was excellent and helpful and the instructions were comprehensive and clear.

Perfect York city centre launchpad

My wife, our two daughters (4 & 6) and I were looking for somewhere simple, centrally located for three nights seeing local friends and the sights. Debbie’s apartment was absolutely ideal. A short walk from everything you’d want to see downtown, a short, easy drive from grocery stores (inc a Waitrose) with secure guaranteed parking. Our daughters were cosy and comfy in the twin room, my wife and I slept wonderfully on the king bed, and there’s space to pack all our stuff away. We cooked when we needed to, but there are amazing spots for breakfast (Partisan!), coffee and dinner nearby. I really can’t think of how the place could have served our needs better, just a perfect place to feel comfortable and at home while being able easily to see and experience all York/N Yorks has to offer.
