What you can expect

Begin your journey from Christchurch between 07.00 and 07.30am.

You will be transferred to the Christchurch Railway Station to begin one of the world’s most scenic train journeys aboard the iconic Tranzalpine Train to Arthurs Pass.

The train travels across the Canterbury Plains, through braided river valleys, and into the dramatic Southern Alps. Disembark at the small alpine village of Arthur’s Pass where your Leisure Tours driver will meet you again. Take time to explore the alpine village and bush walks, refuel at a mountain café, and keep an eye out for playful keas, the region’s famous alpine parrots.

Departing from the National Park, we return to Christchurch via Kura Tawhiti–Castle Hill Conservation Area for striking limestone formations and memorable photo opportunities.
