It was voted the No. 1 natural scenic spot in Hokkaido in a poll by the Asahi Shimbun.

Sairo Observatory (Scenic Stopover) Located on the western edge of Lake Toya, the Sairo Observatory offers one of the best panoramic views in the area. From this vantage point, you can take in the full beauty of Lake Toya, Nakajima Island, Mt. Usu, and even the striking Showa Shinzan.
