Staff was okay, but not exceptional. Bed was comfortable and although room was on roadside of property, noise wasn’t a problem. Breakfast selection was not as robust as other locations, but area was clean and well kept. Bathroom left a bit to be desired.

Good, no frills, place to sleep

The facility met our needs for a place to sleep for the night. Beds were comfortable and sheets and pillowcases were clean. Long story short, I would stay there again. Rest of the story; There is a room fridge tho not very cold. The HVAC system blows across the head of the beds leading to dry mouth and dry eyes. There were some stains on the base of a bed and in a few places on the wall. And the ceiling above one bed has an awful patch job. The ceiling above the shower had a really bad spot. We didn’t get to try the waffles as there was some state high school competition in town so there were quite a few kids waiting to have waffles.

The property was nice going in. I was originally supposed to have a single queen room and the man at the front desk gave us a two queen for no extra charge. The room was clean other than the floor needing vacuumed and some of the bathroom surfaces being wiped down. Breakfast was nothing special, but nice to have. Not a bad place to stay for the price.

I'd be labeled as "cheap" by my family, when it comes to reservations away from home. We were pleasantly surprised by this property. Very clean, very nice, very quiet, and very friendly staff. All at half the rate of surrounding properties. If i were to nit pick, there wasn't a shower liner, so we couldn't use the shower. I didn't say anything though, so they didn't have the opportunity to address it. The TV was pretty small, but had DirecTv. Like i said, no issues, just nit picking.

Very friendly at the front desk. Very clean and quiet. The only thing I didn’t like was that the drain in the shower didn’t work too well. I was ankle deep in water when finished with my shower.

The management was excellent and helpful. This is an easy property to access and convenient for most things in Ames. As oft is the case with Microtel, the rooms are small, but they fit the purpose…a place to lay my head. Clean and appeared to have new carpet in the halls.
