The Red Lion is extremely centra to all the City attractions of Amsterdam. The bathroom is "snug" but adequate. Staff were helpful and attentive. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel for your visit to Amsterdam.

Great location next to Dam Square. Good sized room, big bed, nespresso machine. Everything you could need is close by, and it's convenient for the main railway station and trams. My second stay here, and would definitely stay again.

Great location and clean quiet room apart from the shower which is impossible to take a shower without flooding part of the bathroom floor. There’s no ledge to keep the water contained and the shower is small with only a curtain. I didn’t enjoy mopping up. The rest of the room was fine, with handy fridge and coffee maker. Bottled water would be a plus, but there’s a convenience store a couple of doors down. I never got to eat in the restaurant but it looked very nice. You can walk to the train station to get to the airport, no problem!

Nice hotel for short stay

The hotel is good condition, suitable for both summer and winter stay. Perfect location for tourists like us. Accessible to all restaurants and stations (train, tram, metro & busses). It would have been perfect apart from 1 incident that we feel belittled by one of hotel staff. Her condescending tone sought to infantilise us when asking for some help and yet she reversed the situation that we are the one who is disrespectful and raising our voice on her. I didn’t raise a complaint to manager as we don’t want to ruin our day. Another issue that we want to point out are the beds. The beds are single that been put together to make it a double/king size bed, its not a problem if they can put something to keep it tie in together.

I was shocked at how small the shower was. It was so small I kept bumping into the shampoo and soup holder. The shower curtain also blows in which gave me the ick. The bathroom and shower could be cleaner, there was some mold in different corners. But overall, the room was fine and bed was comfortable.
