Lived up to all the positive reviews from all sources) in terms of amenities and customer service. I was able to check in very early which was much appreciated after a long flight. Room was spacious. The bed was very comfortable and shower was perfect (pressure/temperature). You get two bottles of water and six nespresso pods each night. Location is amazing walking location and feels very safe.

Staff is lovely. Beds are hard. This is not a 4 star, it’s a 3. No room service. Area outside around hotel is dirty with trash in the streets everywhere, it feels vaguely unsafe though the staff did reassure us that it was safe. I know I am judging it by American standards.

A dream If you can imagine two extremes in one day then that’s what happened to me. Monet Garden Hotel! REPEAT AFTER ME - MONET GARDEN HOTEL! again MONET GARDEN HOTEL again MONET GARDEN HOTEL. Say it many times so that you internalize it. I was given tea as soon as I sat down. Check in was in less that 5 minutes then they asked if it was my first time in Amsterdam and I said yes. The lady then gave me a map, proceeded to circle interesting places and sites I could go to on the map. There was chocolate in the room and a personalized welcome. While I watched in awe, I saw the others repeat the same routine with another group who were checking in. “ this must be tiring” I said to myself yet they had smiles on their faces. They asked me if I am having a pleasant stay every time I passed them in the lobby. This was the highest level. Every thing you can imagine you want to see in a hotel, MONET GARDEN HOTEL has it and gave it 100%. I have sent my pictures to everyone in my contact list. If you are ever in Amsterdam, MONET GARDEN HOTEL. What did I say? MONET GARDEN HOTEL :)

Good location, clean comfortable room, friendly staff, good breakfast. 4.5 out of 5. Recommended. One thing: (and this is definitely not aimed just at this hotel): who do hotels insist on using ridiculous toasters to make toast? The one in this hotel was a conventional type where you insert the bread vertically; these usually are good but it still took forever to toast the bread. However by far the worst are those conveyor-belt types where one attempt barely warms the bread and a second attempt nearly burns the place down! Just a whinge I've felt for a while really! Anyway, thank you for a nice stay, Monet Garden staff!
