The property was located less than a mile from the appointment that I had scheduled and there are quite a few locations to get something to eat within a 5 mile radius.

Bathroom the size of a closet, TV going in and out, very noisy in the lobby with groups of people playing cards as if it was a Las Vegas casino, and loud outside of the hotel. Front desk person when asked to fixed the television told me maintenance was gone for the day and no other way to help. And on top of it all, I had just come from Disney and paid less for a Disney hotel than I paid for this bad experience. If they are going to maximize profits based on what events are happening in the area, then they owe it to people to also maximize service and be prepared for the high volume.

Had to find another hotel after arriving.

We arrived to check in and was told they did not take cash. I had been told earlier that it was okay to pay with cash. There was a very big dance competition taking place for the weekend, that is why we were there. We were more than 2 1/2 hours away from home. It scared me that my child was not going to have a place to stay for the evening. I have never had this happen and loved this hotel chain, but as of now I cannot trust them. It was the only hotel chain we had stayed with for over 20 years. My husband logged on and found a hotel right down the road that was $200 cheaper and just as nice. It also included a very nice hot breakfast.

Great stay for anyone visiting UGA or Athens

Holiday Inn Express never disappoints. Very clean and comfortable. Hot breakfast was good. Plenty of seating in the lobby. My son loved the lemon infused water station in the lobby all night.
