Hotel rooms need upgrading

A one day getaway with my family at a A.C. Hotel that was family friendly while the other elder adults can play and I can enjoy the beach. Arriving to the main lobby all the amenities fit the bill. The hotel was clearly updated. However once I arrived to our floor it was clear the renovations to the showboat has been mainly done one the first floor. The rooms did not quite match the photos on the website. There was a cigarette burn on the sofa in a non smoking room. The carpet look like it had stains. The mattress also needs to be updated. It was disappointing. I am really hoping the showboat works on updating the rooms to match the family friendly environment in the first floor.

The rooms were not properly cleaned. No mattress pad on the beds. Dusty curtains and drapes. Dirty spots on the chairs , etc. Corners in the bathroom was dirty. Rooms smelled like stale smoke and very dimly lite as too hide the dirt. Front and boardwalk entrances in need of a good powerwash. Cigarettes butts and other debris on the ground. I will never book a reservation at the Showboat.

Showboat is the worst place in which I've ever stayed in Atlantic City. This is not an emotional response out of anger, this is a review now that I'm home and had time to think about it. The people that work there are either indifferent or nice, everything's dirty, everything in the room didn't work. I thought Showboat was making a comeback but it's not

No one informed us about the parking garage payment until we received parking ticket for non payment on ou 788r car windshield we had to pay a parking fines 78.00 before they tow our car and we are seniors

Front desk was really rude upon checking in. I stayed for 3 nights when I called to ask if there was a microwave in the lobby I can use to warm up my food. I was told I had to rent the microwave for $20 unless I’m staying in a suit. Honestly that’s really crazy to me you spent all that money on a hotel and you have to RENT a microwave that’s crazy!

Hotel very run down, casino shut down at midnight bar shutdown at midnight. Walking from elevator to lobby there was a strange smell. Probably will never stay again. Atlantic city on a whole is dirty, disgusting and unsafe.

I booked adjoining rooms at the Showboat Hotel for a family trip to the Island Waterpark in September 2025, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The rooms were nothing like the pictures advertised on the website. While they claim to have renovated, it feels like a quick patch job at best. The paint smell was overwhelming, the toilets were child-sized, and the tubs were so high you practically need a ladder to get in. The hallways were dirty and poorly maintained, which made a bad first impression. Valet parking was another letdown. I paid for valet service, and they insisted on taking the money upfront the very first night. Later in the week, valet wasn’t even available, which made the whole charge feel pointless. On top of that, when I arrived to check in, staff couldn’t find my Expedia reservation because my son had already checked in early. Even the manager who tried to check me in was unable to locate my reservation. At one point, they were essentially telling me I would have to go home and they would still keep the $800+ I had already paid. It wasn’t until my son told me he had all four room keys that I was finally able to stay. It’s frustrating, because this property used to be a good hotel and casino. I like the concept of a family-friendly resort with a water park, but the way it’s being managed now is chaotic. Dining was another big disappointment — there are no real restaurants, just concession-stand-type food. The water park itself is
