First off the positives- pool, soft play & facilities in general at this resort are very good the main reason we stay here. Location is also great as sit right behind town centre. Any staff members we encountered were very friendly, helpful & polite. Area that needs some improvement is the actual bedrooms as none of my family slept well or very much at all due to the beds being very uncomfortable & firm which is disappointing as the main bed is huge & I was very much looking forward to sleeping in it. There is a distinct lack of plug socks in the room so had to unplug kettle & lamp to access the only 2 sockets in the room. in particular we found it strange that there was no sockets next to the bed. The room was overall very clean but think it’s maybe being rushed at we found both clean socks in the drawer of the dresser & dirty socks under the fold out bed. I only spotted the dirty socks as I picked them up thinking they were my daughters & she informed me they weren’t hers. We also requested fresh milk & after waiting 1 hour it still hadn’t arrived & we needed to phone again to ask about the delay. Which is a shame as we thought offering fresh milk was a very nice addition.

Very disapointing. The pool was not open all day (they had time slots), the waves and slide were not operating although they said they would be. I was told the vent system was not working and it was "dangerous" to be in there. That's fine, but when I asked if it was getting fixed staff said "I don't know". House keeping woke me up knocking loudly and non stop at 8am. When I went to the door wondering it could only be an emergency, the house keeper turned her back and walked away without even explaining her actions. I was left with a headache for my drive back home. The playroom was closed and staff didn't know when it would be open. When I complained, the person at reception did a sad face and noded her head, but did nothing to repair the problems I had described. She gave me the manager's email. When I came back to check I had the right email address, I find out the manager was there! I asked to talk to him, but he did not leave his room and she came back telling me to phone him later. Honestly, I never had such disapointing experience before and I've traveled to many many places.

This hotel is adequate and has good and not-so-good aspects. First of all is the late check-in time. 4pm seems a bit late, especially for families. On the good side, we were allowed to use the pool while we waited. The pool is a good resource but as with many MacDonald Hotels these days, parts of it are tired and need work. Half the showers in the changing rooms were not working and created queues. In the room, I was lead to believe from photos that the family room would have a double bed and two singles instead of a double and one single. Adequate but nothing more. Also, the television didn't really work. At first, there was no audio for television and then it would switch off randomly. Wifi wasn't very strong. Breakfast was good.

Super comfy beds, friendly staff, and the food was good. Great place to stay if you're visiting Aviemore for hiking/outdoor activities, espessially since they have a hot tub, pool and sauna which were great after a long day.
