I love it when you get to a B&B you are looking forward to because of the reviews, and it doesn't disappoint right out of the gate. Our room on the third floor was quiet and sleeps four comfortably--great for a family with two kids. The property is kept up nicely, and the breakfast was freshly prepared by a chef and both a sweet and savory option were given. That said, both egg dishes served (a quiche and a frittata) were too salty for my taste. The proprietor could not be more welcoming and pleasant-- some folks just enjoy meeting people and being hospitable-- it's truly a joy to meet them on your travels!

What a Wonderful experience. Inn Keeper Chris is a treasure and the place is spectacular. Great attention to detail make a huge difference. For instance my wife gushed over having a designated make-up removal cloth in the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent as was the afternoo treats. If you're going to Bar Harbor, stay here!!!!

My wife and I spent 3 wonderful nights at the Sandbar. The bedroom we stayed and the common areas on the ground floor were very inviting and comfortable. Chris and his team went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant visit. Each morning there were two breakfast options (one savory, one sweet) and in the afternoon some homemade treats to go with the coffee and tea. Highly recommend.

The room was nice and big! Beautiful property. Loved the outdoor entertainment, the afternoon tea/snacks, and the delicious breakfasts. These were things we didn't experience at other B&Bs. We wish we had visited earlier in the month, as some places (restaurants/stores) had already closed for the season, and it was getting colder. Also, will stay longer if we have the opportunity to visit again.

Such an amazing and beautiful place! The Sand Bar turned our girls trip experience into something even more special! The delicious breakfast and snacks were so much better than expected, and we expected a lot! The decor, close proximity to everything we needed and wanted to do. We parked the rental when we got there and never moved it again until we were leaving! Goodbye Sand Bar! We love you!!!

Lovely stay at the Sand Bar Cottage Inn

We had a lovely stay at the Sand Bar Cottage. The location was perfect. Chris and his staff were very professional and pleasant. Our room & bathroom were spacious. Our only negative comment would be that we did not receive housekeeping every day. The bed was never made up nor was the trash removed, at a minimum. The room fees were upwards of $425/per night. Housekeeping should be provided.

We loved staying here. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was great. We enjoyed the afternoon tea time treats. Coffee and tea were always avaliable. Our breakfast each morning was amazing. We loved the outdoor area options from eating out on the porch to sitting out in the garden. The location is great. It's close to all the restaurants and shops and a short drive to Acadia. This was our first time to Bar Harbor. Whenever we come back we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Chris and staff. They made sure we had everything we needed.
