I never had a chance to see or meet the host, and they didn't check in with us at all once we'd arrived. It snowed the day we arrived, and the barest amount of clearing was done on walkways and stairs. No one ever went out to clean off the property sign, which seemed a little negligent since it was entirely covered with snow and unreadable. The directions to the space were okay, but they would have been much more difficult if we would have arrived in the dark, because once you got off the main road, the drive branched and we had to go back (made more difficult in the snow). Both our toaster and microwave were broken in the unit, which made doing our own cooking more difficult, which was a BIG issue because we were staying over New Year's, which means most things were closed and our only real option was making do once we made the discovery that two essential kitchen appliances didn't work. It was a perfectly acceptable space overall with plenty of linens and such, and it was clean overall, but for a "remodeled" space, the furniture was relatively dated and the decor was rather cheap and generic feeling. Ultimately, it's not the type of place that I'd go out of my way to return to.
