Very nice, clean room. Could hear people in rooms nearby pretty easily after 11 pm. Not the hotel’s fault but outside noise was loud. The staff was super nice!

We like the old structure that can be seen throughout the hotel. The noise from the kitchen is too much at times when you stay above that area and the road noise keeps you up in other particular rooms.

A Great Escape

My wife and I needed a little "escape from reality" for the weekend. Between careers and other responsibilities, we usually only have the occasional weekends for just us. We had talked about staying at the Hawthorn before since it is close to home and has a good bit to see within walking distance, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did. The staff is amazing, and the hotel itself is beautiful. My wife and I enjoyed walking up and down Broad Street and checking out the shops and restaurants. After our exploring, we finished off the night with a nightcap at the well-stocked hotel bar, where I had a pleasant conversation with who I assume is a manager (I never asked his role) about various high-end bourbons. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly, which is a rare thing these days. The Hawthorn will now be a regular "escape" destination for us.

The uniqueness of the hotel and the history behind it is nice. Very nice staff, walkable to downtown, and rooms are nice. Downside my room did not have a bathtub and you can hear every little noise.

We’ll be back!

Went for one night to visit Berry College. Came in on a Sunday. Not many people at all which we loved. It was so quiet! The hostess at the desk was super nice! Beds were very comfortable. We had river view which was nice. Most downtown shops are closed on Sundays and Mondays, but we have been many times before so didn’t mind.
