Hot water was intermittent at best. However, I was told there was an easy solution- you need to run the tap and shower for more than 5 minutes so it can travel up the building to the 6th floor!

Parking is terrible. Website says they have self parking beside the hotel but you cant park there for 24hrs on the weekend and the garage is closed on Mondays, so you have to move your car Sunday morning from the garage to self Parking.

great location, but the hotel has seen better days. the hotel was a bit run down. our room was...fine. the tv was the size of Michael Scott's in the "dinner party" episode of the office. and the shower...the shower was absolutely terrible. no water pressure. lukewarm (at best). overall, it's fine. you're paying for the location, not the hotel.

This was definitely the BEST location one could ask for. We felt safe and were located right on Michigan Ave. with easy access to public transportation. We didn't splurge the extra money for the lake view, but still had a glimpse from the side. It's not like we were in our rooms that much anyway, LOL! Front desk, gift shop, bell hop, and security were friendly and very helpful. Tried the restaurant for continental breakfast which was less than par. Service there was abrupt and unsmiling, to say the least and the options were extremely limited. Even the coffee seemed old. I know the historic building is going through renovations, which is great. Ours had been "renovated" but the cheap shower head which gave no pressure combined with the 1980's white IKEA like furnishings were not impressive. But again, the location is perfect!

Rooms were clean and housekeeping was accomodating. Front desk was average. Lobby furniture could use some cleaning and/or changing. I wouldn't say updating because the aesthetic is fitting. The mildew and mold from what appeared to be the 4th floor was pungent and seemed to play a role in the elevator having a rancid smell. For the price I paid Id stay again in the room or on the floor I was in/on. It was clean, fresh, and noise was minimal.
