Upon approaching the front desk, we were immediately given a key card and told to check out the room while he finished checking us in. We found this to be odd but took the key card and checked out the room. Everything seemed to have a strange chemical-cover-up smell. We found a 2-inch diameter circle of what looked to be black mold in the bathroom. We took a picture and brought it to the attention of the man at the front desk. He gave us another room and told us to check out that one. We checked the room and though the hotel claimed to be a smoke-free area, the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and nicotine. We did not initially find anything else in the room besides the smell and finished the check-in process into that room.
Upon closer inspection of the room, we found a lot of paint peeling on the ceiling above the sink and on the walls in the rest of the bathroom. The tub creaked loudly upon stepping inside. The walls of the tub/shower area appeared to be bubbling. We found small bits of what looked to be black mold above the sink.
The window did not have a screen and also could not lock properly. We felt very unsafe and decided we'd rather spend the night driving as opposed to spending the night at this establishment.
Would not recommend.
