Unique newly built one bedroom cabin in East Talkeetna near Talkeetna airport. A full size kitchen will give you the comforts of food and warm place to enjoy some relaxing time by the gas fireplace. Coffee and tea, hot cocoa and are provided for anytime you like. Walk 10 to 15 minutes or drive a few minutes to downtown restaurants and music. All close and convenient are the air taxis, Talkeetna taxi, riverboat and Alaska Railroad. We are midway to Denali in just a 2.5 hour drive north.
Stop and enjoy our Denali view by river boat or ski plane, train or car. Great trail system for hiking many areas in Talkeetna. Just ask!

We had a great stay at the Chinook Bear. The place was very clean, tidy, and had everything that we could have asked for. Only a mile away from the town center, it made for an easy walk or very fast drive. We would definitely stay again!

Luxurious Stay

Beautiful house with wonderful amenities! Very comfortable for our family of 4, with 2 in the bed, one on the couch, and one in the pullout sleeper seat. Nice to have 2 bathrooms. Pretty lighting, shades, opening windows on quiet street, near airstrip. Several extras available such as hot chocolate, tea, coffee, games, cards, shower and sink soaps, plenty of blankets, pillows, and towels. Wifi worked well (except when power went out). Loved it and would stay again!

I was pleasantly surprised at the attention to details in this rental cabin. Plush towels, nice linen, and spotless. On top of that very close to downtown. Thank you for directing this lost sole over the phone!

Talkeetna getaway

A friend and I spent a night at the Chinook Bear during a girls trip. The cottage is was immaculately clean, well stocked with the essentials and had great touches with furnishings/artwork. The downstairs futon, when open, does encroach into the path between the stairs and the door, so while you could accommodate 5, it's probably best for a couple of friends or a family with one child. Hosts were very responsive to messages.

Best vacation rental ever!

We absolutely loved this vacation rental! The quality of the craftsmanship, the layout, the amenities, everything was top notch. We wish we could have stayed longer. We didn't know if our son was going to drive up from Anchorage. He ended up being able to get away with his girlfriend. Plenty of room for four with the fold out couch and two bathrooms. We can't say enough positive comments about this home. Highly recommend!

Great cabin!

Really enjoyed staying at this cabin during our visit to Talkeetna. It was convenient to get to, comfy, and had all the needed amenities including a spot to sit and eat for breakfast. The only things we had trouble with were the stairs leading up to the bedroom - they were very narrow and steep, and the shower in the main bathroom was tiny and hard to navigate without soaking the bathroom walls and floor. Otherwise, we had a great stay!

The place was gorgeous. It is tight for four adults. The upstairs was very spacious and relaxing but the down stairs with the bed out made for tight quarters.
