I have stayed many times at this Hotel. My experience has always been good. This trip was a different story. I was offered an upgraded room for an additional cost. It looked great until I noticed the stain on the carpet. After this it was the noise generated from outside the bedroom door (large access hatch housing equipment). The noise did not allow me to get a rest (even though the door was closed to prevent noise). The second night was not any better so slept on the couch. When I brought this to the attention of the staff it was shrugged off as an old area identified to be redone. This should have been disclosed before the offer was made to upgrade. The reaction I expected was more customer friendly. Acknowledgement of the error by reimbursing part (or all) of the upgrade cost. I have been in customer service for over 40 years and I feel this was handled poorly. Although this is an isolated experience, the way it was handled left me feeling that I did not get value for what I paid.
