I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom tub was cleaned, but it didn't look clean because it was stained; I want to say because it's old. Otherwise, I would love to stay there when I come to SC.

The bathroom was fairly clean, sink, toilet and bathtub/shower. However, the plumbing under the toilet looked like it was in some old house. The baseboard below the toilet looked liked it had r been scrubbed in ages. My wife mentioned that the microwave was not clean and chose not to use it. The floor and furniture looked very dusty particularly in unused areas. There were visible dust balls under the heating/ac unit.

When we checked in, we were assigned a room. When we entered the room with our luggage and dog, we noticed that there was still luggage from the previous guests still there. We were assigned another room, but it was inconvenient to move everything and relocate. This should not have happened. Also, there were no dog waste bags in the pet area and dog waste everywhere.

We typically stay at LaQuinta hotels when a single night of lodging is all we need. The staff was great at check-in, breakfast and check-out. The appearance of the building upon arrival gave me high hopes our stay world be pleasant. It appeared the exterior of the building was recently remodeled, repainted, etc… the parking lot was clean and the pavement in good shape. It appeared all of the lighting was recently updated as well. Our check in experience was easy and streamlined. The lobby area was clean and well decorated. As we headed back towards the elevator hall/lobby, the cleanliness observed in the main lobby started to change. We stayed in the large family suite with a king bed, kitchenette and living room area. The elevator vestibule seemed unkempt and we started to notice a few smudges and smears on the walls. The elevator cabs appeared dirty as well. Our room, suite 302 faces the main road, over the main entry. The road noise was noticeable. Once we settled in, we began to notice lots of hair…long dark hair on the floors, in the bathroom, tub & shower curtain, sink…everywhere. The kitchenette is very tired with loose and sticky cabinet doors. More wall smudges here and there, dirty wall switches, grime on the baseboards and my socks were dirty just walking around the room. We thought of calling management up to the room, however we said it’s just one night and we would deal with it. Breakfast was acceptable and again, pleasant staff all around.

We usually stay here a couple of times a year as we travel. We like it because for the most part it’s pretty clean, affordable, pet friendly, and nice staff. I did take off a star this time because I’m not sure the last time the floor in our room was cleaned. It was quite sticky.

Check in was quick and respectfully handled. Since there was four of us, we needed to have a pull-out couch for one of the guests and it was in terrible condition. The mattress and mattress pad looked like it had black stains on it and there was no bedding available in the room. As I attempted to call the front desk about the issue, I noticed the phone had no jack to the power, so I had no service to make the call. I went to the front desk to have the problems rectified and was greeted respectfully and was given clean bedding to get us through our stay. The phone issue was not taken care of, but I didn't push the issue since it was a one-night stay. The breakfast was good with eggs, sausage, hard boiled eggs, waffles - no complaints there. Just needs some updates.

I have stayed here before and liked it. The property has run down badly. Furniture broken, missing, dirty and stained. Lumpy pillows, threadbare sheets. The floors were filthy and the hall carpets did not look like they had been vacumed any time recently. Was only staying one night in transit, looked worse in daylight then when we checked in. Do not recommend.
