I have stayed at Howard Johnsons probably about 9 times on some of my trips to Gatlinburg. All of my stays were good except for this last one. I requested a end room in the building across road from office. When I arrived I ask if they received my request. The clerk said yes and I have you in room 328 and I assumed that was an end room I requested. I was wrong. The room was in the middle of building. I would have gone back to office but it was cold and we had a full cart to unload. The room was the worst I've ever stayed in. Most of the furniture was all scratched up, chairs were stained, hairs on bathroom floor, and it was just not that clean. Was woken up next morning around 7 am to some men outside the room talking extremely loud. Sounded like they were even yelling at times. This went on for about 45 minutes. So, I decided to get up and fix a cup of coffee. The coffee pods that the hotel supplies evidently someone open one and instead of using it the right way they poured it into the pot where the water goes. Looked like pot was never cleaned. The coffee was caked in the pot and I tried to clean it out the best I could. Coffee grounds were all in the sink. Then I ran 4 cups of water through trying to clean it out but the water still came out with grounds in it and the water was brown. So I was unable to have coffee unless I wanted to walk down to the office and it was to cold at that time. So I took shower got dressed and left.
