Great Place and Location

The seven of us had a great weekend stay here; the place was perfect for the group! It's a nice location (both for 'getting there' and just taking a walk around), and the building/amenities were very nice. Definitely a place we'll look into in the future!

Disappointing Cleanliness Overshadows Cozy Cabin Experience

The cabin itself was charming, and offered a peaceful retreat with plenty of amenities to enjoy. As many other reviews, I confirm that it could have more towels and definitely some more wine glasses. There is still a lot of potential. The location was good, with various of activities and nature spots nearby. However, there were definitely some issues with cleanliness that left a bit to be desired. Spiderwebs were noticeable inside the cabin, and the deck was scattered with leaves that hadn’t been cleared for multiple days (if not weeks). It took me one hour to clean the deck as there was only 1 small broom available. The most concerning part was finding some mice droppings in the kitchen area, which really made us question the upkeep of the space. Given these cleanliness issues, charging a cleaning fee felt unreasonable. Friendly hosts made sure to give us plenty of reminders about the house rules, however forgot about their own responsibilities.

Great firepit

Our stay was fine but the house was a bit small for 5 adults and two children. Very nice deck and firepit. I got way too many emails about rules and such, and the required phone call with the owner was over the top in my opinion.

Great spot!

Only stayed for a weekend but could have stayed much longer. The house was in great shape and the fire pit in the backyard made for some great nights. Easy to communicate with host and everything was just as described.

Conveniently located to the lake and pool and boat slip

This VRBO was as advertised. It comfortably fit our family of 7. There was a problem with the sewer (cracked pipe), but the representative had it fixed very quickly. We received a few hours later check-out time and a discount on the boat slip fee for our inconvenience. Coincidentally it was located across the street from the VRBO rented by my 2 brothers. Deer visited the property daily. The kids enjoyed the neighborhood pool and playground a 2-minute drive from the house.

Family mini vacation

Fully equipped kitchen is not exactly accurate. No large bowls, whisk, minimal plates. Had to mix pancake batter in a pan with a spaghetti spoon. Glad we brought our own paper bowls and plates and plastic wear. Games were nice downstairs. Great location of home. Pool was clean and there were lounge chairs available for us when we went. We didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor seating and firepits. Owners were easy to work with and readily available. I would recommend staying here for your next Pocono visit!

Quiet getaway

The property was located on a quiet street lined with trees and we were greeted by a family of deer when we arrived. There is a great fire pit outside and you just have to bring your own chairs and wood. The kitchen has all the basics you would need. 2 main bedrooms on the main floor were good for my kids and they shared the hall bathroom. The bathrooms aren’t updated but met our needs. The top floor bedroom is a loft so the bed is tucked up on an angle so you can’t sit up all the way. The bathroom is also squeezed in so it’s a bit tight. The kids enjoyed the air hockey table. We really liked how private and quiet the location was.

Great summer family get together

This was a great vacation home for our family (husband and I, 2 sons and their wife/fiancé) and we loved that there were 3 queen beds! Saw some amazing wildlife and the property was nestled amongst beautiful trees ! Hawley was just a 25 minute drive and we lived Palmyra public beach for swimming relaxing and paddle boarding! Great restaurants and shops close by! Would definitely come back! Hosts were great!

Friends and family weekend

This property could easily get a 5 star. We had a great stay and the owners are extremely helpful and accommodating. We asked for an early check in and late check out and each were accommodated. I received a phone call ahead of check in and several texts to ensure everything was ok. The guest book is very professional and so helpful. Everything is so organized. The pool, tennis courts and playground were a god send. The kids had a blast. The games room was great. The reason I give a 3-4 star is that I really felt that the standard of the property did not match the standard of the pre check in attention. Here’s a few areas that could be improved to get a 5 star: 1. The hand book stipulates the number of towels provided. There were 8 of us and only 1 towel per person (no beach/pool towels). This would have been fine if detergent was provided but it is not. I feel like either more towels or detergent should be provided 2. No wine glasses 3. For 8 people there was limited kitchenware. We found we had to run the dishwasher half empty so we had enough plates ready. Probably would be more economic to buy a few more plates than pay for electricity to run the dishwasher 4. The house overall could benefit from some updating. It’s ok but the pictures make it look brighter than it actually is. The furnishings and carpets could be refreshed. 5. the deck and outdoor table and chairs had not been swept/cleaned. There we’re leaves and debris we had to remove 6. The gas tank for the bbq was empty. There was a full one but we had to change it. 7. The bbq was extremely dirty. We used aluminum as we weren’t comfortable cooking directly on it 8. There is no AC in the bedroom on the lower floor

Relaxing place.

This is a great place to stay if you want to walk away from the busyness of the city. It is tranquil and near to a beautiful lake. The owners are very responsive and helpful. We had a good time there.

Wonderful holiday vacation home!

The entire process, from beginning to end, was smooth. Reaching out and communicating with the property manager was easy. The rental was in a very peaceful neighborhood-we hardly saw the neighbors but saw plenty of deers! The house was so cozy and the fireplace worked beautifully. The kitchen was fully stocked but bringing your own pots would be best. In all, we had such a wonderful time. I appreciate the Horans for their hospitality and for their lovely home!
