Great to have a private beach although the sun rises in front of the beach it means the sun goes down behind the mountain about 3pm. The pool was also cool but both of these was because we went at end of November. Good selection at breakfast, however they need more coffee machines

Staff where lacking some local and hotel knowledge . We where told no snack available on roof , then discovered on last night there was . Paid for sauna and water experience and sauna was cold !!

Room was lovely but next time i would stay on the sunny side as there was no sun on the balcony with a mountain view. Fabulous breakfast. TV doesnt link to Netflix but had YouTube. Showers need rethinking as theyre above the bath in the celing and soak the room. Lovely that theu give you 100000 to spend at the resort for each day you stay.whe you shower

The rooms are immaculate, the views are amazing and the pools/bars/restaurants are all great.Everywhere we went in Vietnam we were impressed with the warmth and hospitality of the people and the staff at the Flamingo really took it to the next level.I particular Thuy on reception provided lovely flowers for our anniversary and a cake, as well as organising our transport back to Hanoi.We couldnt have wished for a better place to celebrate our 35th.

Amazing hotel but far from everything

Love the resort, amazing place, just to many people, lost of people waiting for elevators and carts to take you to the 1st building if you wanted to get into town, which is a 10-15 min walk down and up a big hill. Everything else about the hotel was excellent. Our room was immaculate, received good service, and the breakfast buffett was amazing. Its just that this place was too big for me.

The views from Flamingo are absolutely gorgeous. It is sat right on the beachfront, with direct beach access and a lovely pool. However, I would not come to this resort expecting 5 star luxury, it’s a 3 star at best. The rooms were clean to an extent, but the walls had damp marks on them, and the bathroom was definitely not cleaned to a 5 star standard, it’s cleaned better in b&b’s back in the UK. The aircon can’t go below 24 in temperature, even if set to 18 on the thermostat. We ended up requesting a fan to help distribute the cooler air to where we were sleeping as it was way too hot in there. Again, at a 5 star hotel I would expect to control the temperature of the room to how I like it. The facilities are great, the spa was lovely and the reception staff were polite and helpful. However you cannot have that number of sun beds for a hotel of that size. Roughly 15 by the pool? Absolutely not. Even if you were lucky enough to get one, some Vietnamese’s families thought they could use them anyway even if your stuff was on them and you were having a quick swim. Overall, don’t bother coming here if you was a 5 star luxury experience. The hotel itself isn’t bad, if you paid less for the pleasure of staying there and set your expectations to staying at a 3 star.

Hotel room was up to all my expectations and good choice for breakfast. Unfortunately due to storm the week before some pools were closed and the beach was full of rubbish which staff didn't seem to be making an effort to clean up in any hurry. Distance from Cat Ba town was easy
