Magical!

Incredibly amazing once again! I have been traveling for a few months all over the US. As a southern girl the last place I'd expect to land is the Upper Peninsula, and I'm so glad I did! Because of the beautiful story about Carla & Dougs start, 45 years ago, (ask them it's an inspiring story! ) their extremely kind heats, willingness to assist me with everything & offering insightful advice; I fell in love with them & Baraga! This is my second trip with them inside of a month, I've officially begun making arrangements to call this future winter wonderland home. All it took was sincere acts of kindness to make this once foreign place feel like home. This place is representative of their story, their life and the community. It's special, charming, cozy & warm. Its NOT like those ridiculously overpriced outfits and I personally am glad! I've never slept better than right here. It's welcoming inviting and a long standing piece of history over looking the beautiful bay! Stepping back in time here at Carlas Lakeshore Motel has been magical & appreciated. I admire them both and will absolutely see them again! Thank you Carla and Doug for continuing to be so kind, for remaining in business for 45 years growing more and succeeding! Thank you for your absolutely perfect mom & pop motel! You both changed my future in a positive way. This world needs more people like you both. :-)

Old, slanted floor, old chairs with no support from the 1950’s. Rooms were extremely small. Bathroom window was chained open for ventilation in the bathtub/shower. No electric plugs in bathroom. Extremely small mirror in bathroom. Not at all worthy of the $170 charge.

Spectacular view offering a peaceful & tranquil view from the comfort of your room! This is the most charming place with extremely friendly owners who can't do enough for their guests. The down to earth atmosphere gives a sense of home away from home and if you're receptive to making friends, simply walk outside enjoy conversing with other travelers on the deck or around a fire. Not the best

Place was older, but bed was comfortable and place was clean. There was an odor by the door, not sure if place is on a slab, as maybe have been a dead animal. That was the worst of it.

Carla was super nice and accommodating of our delayed check in, and even provided a map of local foods with recommendations! The room was super clean, comfortable, and had an amazing view of Lake Superior right outside our door. 10/10 would stay again.

Very convenient… maybe there would be little problem but you can see Carla works hard to run a nice experience… I booked very late but get the hotel and check in instructions and get in easily upon arrival after 11pm… thanks you Carla I will call you later when I have time
