I love old hotels. The room was clean and neat. The bathroom was clean and easy to use. Staff was helpful even when I couldn't get a ride from the airport they were so helpful. Then at night .....I had pot wafting up from the street level with if coming in through closed older windows. Then there was a party on the street from the liquor store across the street & the dispensaries. The street cleaner does come at 4 AN to clean up. Maybe a room at the back of the building or in the east side would be better if you want quiet.

Best staff. So friendly. This is an historic property, so the rooms are unique configurations that might not appeal to everyone, but we thought it was great. Perfect location, esoecially if coming in from a cruise ship. Susan at the front desk was great

It may have been a historical site but it was a ruff area. Fights in the street. Unable to get into bathroom. Lady at the desk said to go to the other bathroom. Found second bathroom that was made out of a closet! We didn’t know there was one. She told us where it was rather than show us. Window not operating. Had to prop the window up with a ice bucket. No air conditioning. Shower and bathroom not clean. Sunk in room but only cold water. Was charged $188 but was quoted $145! Most of the doors to rooms looked like someone tried to break in with a knife because there was knife marks by the locks of the door! Unsafe area!

My kind of place!

I love a classic 112 year old hotel. Shared bathrooms were clean and never a wait. Mattress was like a cloud! Everyone is helpful and friendly. Not your type of place if you're uptight and get upset about some wear and tear or hauling gear up stairs. Adventurous souls only!

I thought given the age of the building it was well maintained. However, I wouldn't stay there again. If you're a night owl who likes hitting the pubs at all hours and listening to the drunk's yell and sing until early in the morning, it's great.

If you are looking for authentic Alaska hotel experience, this is great! My room while small compared to standard hotel rooms had what i needed- bed, coffee maker, heater, on suite bathroom. Easy walk from the cruise port!

An old hotel dating from 1913, so expect it to be rustic. However the beds are fresh and comfortable. The staff is friendly. Parking area is difficult to find if you arrive after dark in the rain, so you'll want a flashlight. Same thing with the rear entrance, which is not yet well marked. When you leave the parking lot and head down the flight of stairs towards the hotel, you come to a little covered landing. Turn right after the covered landing and the door on the right is your target where you'll find the combination keypad on the door. There are stairs to get to your rooms as its built on a hill, and no elevator. So plan accordingly. morning Coffee is good, but no breakfast at the hotel. The bar looks like something from an old west movie set, very cool.

Beautiful and fun

Beautiful old hotel right in historic Juneau. Unique antique architecture and comfortable rooms. Try and request a room that's not right over the bar if you are a light sleeper as noise comes through the floor.
