This was a great find. I booked just three days in advance in the middle of vacation season. It was a great budget find. Super affordable. Parking was located on the inside of the hotel buildings which made me feel like my vehicle was safe and that I was safe walking to and from my vehicle. I had one of the queen bed sweets, and it was a great size room with different areas that separated the living and bedroom. My room was on the bottom floor and practically 10 steps from the sand! The staff was very friendly on check in and check out. I didn't use many of the amenities because I was not there long, but I did like that. They offered a free breakfast. I would definitely stay again. The only negative and the reason for leaving four stars on the property was because it is dated. They have made a few upgrades you can tell, but if you're looking for something top of the line and this is not your place to stay. Best things about the property - very clean and safe feeling!

My room was supposed to be Ocean view and it wasn't. The bathroom was full of mold and it looked like the ceiling was going to fall in. My room was not made up when I went in it. Then after I left for a while and came back someone had come in and made up my room. I could not adjust the air conditioner. The noise outside my room during the night kept me up until about 2:00 in the morning.

The room was clean and nice enough. They said they would call when the room was ready and did not. There was a fight outside our door at 1:30am. Screaming and cursing. Slamming into the doors of other room. The police were called. I felt very unsafe. Terrible experience. Beer cans and trash on the porches outside rooms. The pool water was also pretty gross. I would not recommend this hotel.

The property was close to the beach. Our King Suite had everything we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and accommodating, especially the manager who stayed calm and reassuring when i thought i had jewelery missing. For the price, closeness to the beach, accommodating staff, and free breakfast, it's one of the best options on the Outer Banks.

The property is old with some deterioration of the buildings exteriors. Stairs are falling apart. Sinks drained very slowly. There some updates to the interior of the rooms. Flooring and bedding looked fairly new. Beds were fairly comfortable. No elevators so getting beach gear up and down the stairs every day was a bit of a pain, but beach access was easy. Pool area could use a few more tables and chairs but was pretty decent. Breakfast was decent, though it was the same thing every day - pre-made omelets, sausage, biscuits and gravy for the hot options. Cereal, muffins, oranges. Very basic but not bad. Staff was very polite. The older gentleman cleaning the rooms was very personable and friendly. My favorite part though was the lock on the room door which was code operated so there was no need to carry a key around which was extremely convenient. More hotels should do that. Overall, the place was dated, but staff was friendly and it served our purpose considering we didn't book until the week before for a holiday week.

Not impressed

There was a domestic/child abuse situation next door that we had to call the cops about. The front desk manager did let us switch to a different room two flights above that occupant’s room, and that was very appreciated, but that issue definitely affected all of us. The bed had particles and debris of who knows what still on the sheets that I had to sweep off. The shower/tub spout was crooked and angled at about a 45 degree angle. The noise level of the rooms around us were so loud it felt like they were in our room, and the noise went very late into the night. The phones in the room didn’t work at all.
