Lovely retreat on the water. Close to town but tucked away from the traffic and chaos. Lots of wildlife and very kind and attentive innkeepers.

For those looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay, this is a perfect choice. The owners of the property are very kind and welcoming. Check in was very casual and easy, and I enjoyed the views of the sound. They made sure everything was tidy and clean for guests. Our stay at Cypress Moon Inn was idyllic! The home is close to amenities. Cocooned on a large waterfront lot in a haven of trees, you feel miles away from the bustle. Upon arrival, Linda warmly greeted us and ensured our comfort before offering a dinner suggestion. Ocean Boulevard was a spot-on recommendation! The next morning, Greg shared local knowledge of the greater Outer Banks region. We followed several of his suggestions, resulting in an engaging and lovely day of exploration. The home is filled with charm. We enjoyed early mornings on the deck, feeling in-tune with nature. We spent evenings playing some of the board games the Inn keeps on-site. Overall, a wonderful trip with equally gracious hosts. Thank you!

What a lovely home. Staying there is like something out of a Nicholas Sparks novel. My husband and I stayed a weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and it was a wonderful experience. Do not hesitate to book this unique venue.

This place was a special retreat from all the commercialization of the Kitty Hawk area. It is located in and near one of the few original maritime forests on the island. You could hear all the frogs and crickets singing at night. Each room has a balcony with porch swing, overlooks the water, and has a spectacular sunset view. We would definitely stay here again!!

We loved our stay at the unique and beautiful Cypress Moon Inn. The property is full of character and we especially enjoyed the owner’s appreciation of nature; there was a wonderful blending into the surroundings. Greg and Linda were gracious and attentive hosts- gave us space but were also willing to share history and stories full of personality with us. The antique furnishings in the Inn are beautiful and the building itself is a work of high craftsmanship. We would love to stay here again!

Wonderful Choice

Can’t wait to return. Homey and comfortable. Our host was absolutely fabulous and was extremely interesting. He spent a lot of time answering our questions and just being helpful. It’s only a minute or two from the highway, but you’d never know it. Quiet. Feels remote. They have fishing poles, kayaks, life preservers, bicycles, and tons of books (especially local titles) games, on and on. Wonderful deck off each room to watch the water and wildlife. This place is a jewel. Recommend it highly.

have no complaints about my stay at the cypress moon inn, you cannot beat this place for the price. Location is beautiful, with a balcony that gives you a nice view of the sound side. Breakfast is some fruit and muffins, restocked each day. It's a light breakfast, perfect for starting your day. There's a Walmart nearby just in case you forget or need to pick up anything. Additionally the host Greg is delightful, could talk to him for hours. He built the house himself and did a very good job. He provides free bikes you can take down to the beach, as well as kayaks to use on the lake behind the house. Only complaint (if I had to complain) would be that there is no microwave, but for how nice the place is that didn't bother me.

Greg & Linda were the best hosts we could’ve asked for! Their home is beyond lovely and they made us feel welcomed our entire stay. The rooms are well cared for, spacious, and comfortable. There is a beautiful sunrise and sunset view from their balcony and dock and we were even able to see deer and otters. Additionally, they didn’t hesitate to share local recommendations with us which was so helpful. Thank you Greg & Linda we will definitely be returning!
