Lovely location and we were lucky enough to have views of Fuji out of our window. The rooftop viewing area was lovely to sit out on with a shady area for sunny days. Breakfast was two choices but we enjoyed it. We also stayed for an evening meal which was lovely and good value. Room was huge.

Fuji views from room

Hotel was excellent. Only two things I would improve is more comfortable pillows and I couldn’t get the A/C to work properly. The room a little too warm for me. Other than that I would stay here again. Pretty close to everything.

HaoStay is the only hotel that I had to replace the bath towels myself among all the ones that I have ever stayed. The hotel staff is unable to communicate well in either Japanese or English. The hotel is out of the way with nothing around it. There is a shuttle bus every half hour in the morning but needs to schedule ahead of time. All in all, please do NOT stay here if you have a choice.

The hotel has a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji (on days with clear skies) at its rooftop garden. We enjoyed the breakfast provided by the hotel. Perhaps the breakfast menu could be varied on a day to day basis.

Haostay with a view

Checkin was efficient & well explained. Provided with a code to access room. No key. Pleasantly surprised on entering the room with great view of Mt Fuji from the window. Room very comfortable with 2 beds, a separate sitting area Japanese style, kettle with amenities available from reception. Staff were very good & very attentive to requirements. Access to a rooftop area to admire Mt Fuji. We were lucky with clear days. Breakfast was included with my room - either Japanese cuisine , which was very tasty or international - egg & ham sandwich. Coffee, tea , juices are available. Ate at the restaurant which had a limited menu of 2 items. The ramen was very tasty. Hotel is approx half hour walk from kawaguchiko station. Also a short walk to the lake. Restaurants in the locality requiring a walk from the hotel. Bicycles are also available for hire to explore the area. I enjoyed my stay at Haostay & thank the staff for welcoming nature. Would recommend Haostay.

Great, easy, comfortable stay

I had accidentally booked the reservation under only myself, when in actuality, I was staying with my two kids and husband as well. The Receptionist handled it very well (despite the language barrier) and she made sure we had everything we needed. The location is great, very walkable and the view is beautiful. Beds were really comfortable. Nothing bad to say!

Hotel very dated. Although clean and room was a good size, it's in need of a reno. Bathroom very small and big step to enter it. Good location to see Mt Fuji from the rooftop (although no grass & furniture like in the photo). We didn't get a room with a view. Very frustrating transport to get to the town, not much to do around the area, hardly any restaurants open and not many people out walking around at night. Didn't feel unsafe at all but felt like nothing was happening. Breakfast was good. Staying around/closer to the lake would be a better option. We only ended up staying 1 night instead of 2.
