The pictures of the property showed a clear stream beside it; however, when we got there, it was muddy water. We went to use the exercise room and the treadmill was broken. The maintenance guy got it turned on, but it stopped me after running for 2 minutes. We restarted it and it did the same, stoped me after 2 minutes. We went to the pool. The water was a slimy film on your skin unsafe to swim in. Hotel staff did not have it closed.

Overall it was a fine visit. It rained pretty hard the day we stayed and the entrance seemed to have flooded. Came in to standing water in the doorway and puddles inside the lobby. Card reader on the room door barely worked. Hot food at breakfast did not seem like it was cooked and hat day. It was very clean, the room itself was nice, and the bed was comfortable. Just small issues, really. Also, the staff was wonderful.

The property is usually clean and friendly. This time we were assigned a room that had not been cleaned ahead, there was no breakfast prepared to manage the number of overall guests, staff were short and rather rude when you asked about breakfast or pool towels.

I purposely stayed here because of the exercise room. The equipment was not only rusted and terrible, the treadmill didn’t even work and was missing parts. The room wasn’t bad and the rate was very reasonable but if you want to work out do NOT stay here.

Quick stay in Chapmanville for a wrestling tourney. My son and I were welcomed promptly by a kind staff member. Our room was clean and comfortable. The area was quiet and convenient.

The room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. The location was terrible though. I was staying by myself for work, and honestly quite scared to be there. The key card entry was broke off the side door and the door was kept open with the rug. Overall, I would not stay here again.

It wasnt great, we booked a 2 night stay. Got to the room, literally no toilet paper, 1 towel for 2 of us for 2 days. My wife had a shower and discovered there was no hair dryer, i went to reception yet again and the wo.an actually seemed cross that i was asking for a hair dryer. She must of been! 30 mins later, still no dryer, back to reception and the young man down there sorted us oneout. Later when we went to sleep, there was a hole in the bed sheet, housekeeping must have surely seen this when they made the bed.

The young lady at the front desk was polite, helpful and efficient. She was working at the front desk checking people in, doing laundry in the back room, making coffee and trying to fix the online reservation system which was incorrectly showing no available rooms. I didn’t see or hear any other employees so I assume she was doing everything herself. She was doing a great job and handled everything smoothly. I have stayed at this Best Western 12 times during the past 5 years. The front/main parking lot has always been this hotel’s biggest problem. The surface is dirt with some gravel and there’s some junk (empty wire spools, rusted poles, concrete blocks) taking up valuable parking space. And this evening when I checked in there was a large trailer/camper parked in the front lot. It was not attached to a tow vehicle and there was a 100’ extension cord running from the camper across the parking lot and plugged into a receptacle near the front door. There were 6 to 8 large trucks parked around the camper and maybe 8 to 10 guys inside the camper. Are they living there? I should have asked the young lady at the front desk about this . . .
