We came in at 3:45pm and the room was not ready, they asked us to return at 4:00pm. Whe returned at 4:00pm the room was still not ready. After a 10 hrs fly we were hyngry, tired, wanted to chnage clothes and the room was not ready for another 45 minutes after 4:00pm!! Customer service is terrible. Peple are rude and careless about customers. I do not want to return to this hotel.

I recently had the best time staying at Sonesta Maho Beach! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the vibrant atmosphere and stunning surroundings. My hotel room with a beach view was absolutely incredible; watching the planes land so close by was an unforgettable experience! Staying on the 9th floor was a fantastic choice, especially with easy access to the rooftop bar. The views from up there were breathtaking, and it was the perfect spot to unwind with a drink while soaking in the scenery. The staff at Sonesta were simply amazing. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, making my stay even more enjoyable. I felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout my visit. I can't wait to come back! This hotel has truly set the bar high for future vacations. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway!

Overall, it was a good experience for the money we paid. The resort offers a solid range of food options, with a buffet that has just enough variety to keep things interesting. While the cafe in the lobby was extremely convenient — a great spot for a quick coffee or snack — I do wish for additional snack stations spread throughout the resort. The rooms were clean and modern, though the beds felt a bit small. Still, everything was well-maintained and up to date, adding to a generally pleasant stay. In terms of service, it was a bit of a mixed bag. We encountered some staff members who were absolutely wonderful — friendly, helpful, and welcoming — but there were also a few who seemed dismissive and carried a not-so-great attitude. One of the bigger drawbacks, however, was the pool situation. With only one pool available, it became quite crowded. Guests would place towels on chairs as early as 7 a.m. and not return until much later in the day — sometimes 10 or 11 a.m. — essentially reserving spots for hours. This made finding available seating extremely challenging and left us feeling like we had to strategize just to enjoy time by the pool, which was inconvenient.

3/9/25 Where do I begin for the price I paid it was not worth it. As soon as I got in the hotel, it was hot in the lobby. I was there for a wedding. It was a large group so the bride had a discount code. they did not apply my discount code to my reservation Had to pay full price plus they wanted to charge each gas $40 extra for the wedding reception. Horrible who close too early. Was not the best of you was horrible. My sister had to call three or four times to the front desk just to get a blanket and some Ginger ale she was not feeling well , we believe she got food poisoning from the pizza. She finally went to the lobby to ask what happened They referred her to speak with a manager. 3 to 4 hours later, they finally got her Gingerale Gatorade, and 30 minutes later they brought up the blankets. The place needs to be updated. We got there Thursday. Every day was a different rule. One day you did one thing the next day you cannot do it. From getting beach towels to entering a restaurant. I need to be compensated. I still need some money returned to me

When checking in room was not ready had to keep checking to see if room was ready. Walls are so thin I heard the people next to me snoring and loud talking, spoke to front desk they said it was bc a door was open next night same thing. Even spoke with manager the next day for same issue,Didn’t get any real good sleep or any privacy bc if I could hear them I’m sure they could hear me. Had to check out early due to family emergency and they refused to refund me my last night.

I didnt like the customer service. it was horrible including the managers. Staff was nit friendly at all. Checkin was 5 hours late and they didnt want to make any accommodations for me. I asked for a late check out and was told NO. During dinner at the resturant a pipe burst and water was all over the place. The ice maker on the 7th floor was broken the entire stay and when i asked for ice to be brought to my room i was told NO. Whenever i asked staff for directions to different locations none of them knew where anything was at almost as if they didnt work there. This hotel is a 2 out of 10 book at your risk

My stay at Sonesta was very enjoyable! The staff there were very friendly. A shout out to Rose Marie, Dawn and Mina who took care of my Mom and I while dinning. The rooms could use some updating but besides that everything else was nice. Check in was seamless and the staff were all attentive to our needs! Definitely will return for a future vacation!
