The room was dirty. The tub was dirty. The jetted tub was lined with sand after draining it. We were not on the beach. This came from the jets themselves. Upon a closer look they were dirty. When we mentioned it to the front desk they claimed "the lines are flushed and that is the result". That did not remove any concerns. The bathroom sink didn't drain properly. The screen on the sliding door was taped at the top and the tape was hanging half off. The pool was dirty and the hot tub was filthy. You could not even see the bottom. There was peeling stripping all around the top of the hot tub. It looked too disgusting to enter. The room came with free waterpark passes at a local hotel. It has a couple of waterside and a lazy river. Both slides were closed and boarded up and the plunge pool empty. The lazy river barely moved. We stayed less than 10 minutes. For the price we paid I expected better. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

the night before i stayed at an expedia super 8 hotel, which was a disgusting hole. the hamilton was a breath of fresh air. walking in the front door was a welcoming staff, it backed up on the same shore, the building is a little dated, but, very well maintained. the room was clean, neat, comfortable. I don't travel much, I understand most are franchises, I'll never look at another Super 8 again. Mackinac City, was a very nice experience,,,, thank you Hamilton

The hotel room itself smelled like moldy-mildew and the carpet was old and sticky. The pool and hot tub could be much cleaner. The gym is basically non existent, very limited machines and the bowflex was broken. The booking notes that the rooms are sound proof and that is very much untrue. I’d be less upset about it if they didn’t go out of the way to lie about it as a perk.

I really liked the view, the fact that the hotel was on the lake made viewing the Saturday night fireworks wonderful! There was an issue with the bathroom when we arrived because it had been clogged however when brought to the attention of the staff they took quick action to make it right.

At checkin we were told we were upgraded but the room was definitely a downgrade. The room was next to a stairwell and an entrance so noisy all night long. There was a soap bar in the shower from previous people. There wasnt any new bars of soap for us to use. The room made me feel dirty and was happy when we left.

Our room was damp. Carpet damp, bedding damp. The smell was terrible and gave me a headache and had a hard time breathing. The smell of mold and musty. I was very thankful we only booked there for one night. We couldn’t leave fast enough. When we asked for a dehumidifier they sent a maintenance man with what appeared to be a bottle of windex but he claimed it was air freshener. No help at all! We also had black mold growing on the wall.This property needs major restoration done. I would not recommend this property to anyone. The staff check in woman were very rude and made us feel like a burden.

Every thing was great at the hotel. The only recommendation I would have is that they need to leave the coffee machine on downstairs available, 24/7... So if anybody feels like a coffee or a tea, they don't have to only have it whenever the breakfast hour from 7 to 9 a m

Disappointing Stay – Needs Serious Improvement. My recent stay at this hotel was far from satisfactory. The carpet in the room had a strong, unpleasant odor, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt outdated and dull. The curtains had visible mold, and the showerhead knobs were both loose and rusted, making it difficult to use. Additionally, the swimming pool had a strange smell that definitely wasn’t chlorine, raising concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this hotel.

The hotel looked great from the outside, but the inside was another story. The toilet was not secure to the ground, the soap/shampoo dispensers in the shower were empty. The breakfast was ok but very poorly set up for the number of people in the hotel.

Very nice room. Check-in was easy and very pleasant. Bathroom layout was a bit odd. It could be done better on next refresh but adequate. Breakfast was free and had many options but a bit too chaotic for us. Property well msintainef inside and out. Would definitely stay again.

I always stay at this facility when I visit Mackinac. The staff are amazing!!! Also so accommodating. Arrived early before check in, which I knew. They then said we’ll get the room cleaned asap. They called an hour and 1/2 before check in to tell me my room was ready! Always clean and reliable.

Hotel was ok. You didn’t need your keycard to get in so anyone could come in, and I would assume at any hour. The 1st room was very musty/funky smelling and the carpet seemed damp. Because of this we switched to a different room the 2nd night. They were very accommodating about that. The pool room was way too hot, humid and stifling. All the screen doors were shut making it 100x hotter than it had to be in there, as there was no circulation. We opened one door and we were told we had to shut it for security reasons. We left shortly after that. Front desk staff was nice and they had to have been working 12+ hour shifts. Next time I would pick a different hotel. The location was nice. They upgraded my parents’ room for free and that was very nice of them. Their room was very nice and right on the beach.
