Short staffed possibly but the rooms weren't getting cleaned before people checked in. Black mold in the shower and the toiletries we were given were all wet. Room smelled dirty and moldy. Only good thing was we were on the beach

The dungeon

A very disappointed stay in Mackinac. They have 2 sets of rooms one is in the original hotel and the other is an old rooms that should be bulldozed. Didn't feel secure no lighting in the parking lot no lighting at the room had to be 2 feet away to see the room number. I'm all of 5 foot 7 and in this room I could touch the ceiling. Musty smelling and damp in the room. Hole in the wall in the bathroom and holes in the rug. And to top it all off the tv didn't work. For a grand total of 230us for 2 nights way overpriced.

Motel is disgusting; cabins MIGHT be ok.

Only consider staying in the beach side cabins. The motel itself is disgusting. Mold on the curtain in the bathroom, dirty sheets on the bed, some sticky substance in a puddle on the bedside table, need I say more? Not worth $50 much less the $178 I was charged.

Place is old and not updated, but it is very clean and in decent condition. We just stayed overnight on our way to Houghton and it worked for us. Everything is close, beach is steps away, just not a modern hotel. Parking is cringy for large vehicles. Beds were comfortable.

There were so many problems with the room, unclean sheets, unclean pillows. The toilet worked 50% of the time less than half the outlets worked cleaned and stained and hairy towels. They attempted to give us the wrong room so that delayed our check-in till 530. The exterior door had been broken into had a damaged and broken door jam. There were two small screws, holding the broken mess together. The shower was so dirty. My wife did not want to use it as a shower. The showerhead was the worst along with the bathroom vent that had about an inch of debris over the intake. So we ended up looking somewhere else because we felt unsafe unclean and taken advantage of all the problems that we found would have taken a long time to fix and since the check-in was delayed, we didn’t feel like waiting or trying a third room. We spoke with management and they said that no refund was available to them to get to us.

Deceitful

Hotels.com lied to us. Deceived us. Very deceptive practices. We didn't end up staying because we refused to stay in a junkyard. We did not get a lakeview cabin as promised instead we were shown a cabin amongst junk and filth. I disputed the charge with American Express and plan to file a complaint with the better business bereau.

RIGHT on the lake. Literally stepped from our balcony onto the sand beach, then another 20 yards to the lake. Nothing fancy, but didnt pay for anything fancy. Clean, relatively updated.

I was VERY disappointed in the overall stay at Waterfront Inn. The room was sticky, window air-conditioning was loud, spider webs in all corners, stained sheets, light in the bathroom didn't work. They put a lamp in there to see. The room smelled weird and parking was also terrible.
