Seasonal Road Closure Notice: HWY 120 (Tioga Pass) generally closes for the winter from late October through late June. Daily closures can also occur during periods of inclement weather in spring and fall. The Eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park is located 45 minutes from Mammoth Lakes. Yosemite's Eastern Gate or Tuolumne Meadows is not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. All other Yosemite National Park entrances are open year round. Heater didn't work properly

First of all, the heater went all the way without stopping, no matter what temperature we set it at, so of course it got way too hot. We had no choice but to turn it off before going to sleep, but of course with the temperature being in the 10-20s outside, it got too cold during the night. Very uncomfortable. Secondly, the lady at check in was very friendly and all, but with the short conversation she gave us three pieces of wrong information-- 1. Room service is upon request (in reality, we did NOT want room service, but housekeeping came in anyway... isn't it 'upon request'?! If she hadn't say so, we would've put out the Do Not Disturb sign) 2. Hotel bar (Bar Sierra) has happy hour from 4-6pm (in reality, there's no more happy hour at Bar Sierra, but we went there thinking there was) 3. There's coffee in the lobby 24/7 (in reality, nope, there was no coffee when we tried to get a cup). So yeah, not a very satisfying stay overall.

Centrally located to shops and bus lines

My family and I enjoyed our stay at outbound. We had two kids with us, ages 9 and 7, who enjoyed the arcade every evening. Restaurants and Vons are walking distance. The bus line to eagle is easily accessible, right across the street. We stayed in a two bedroom villa with a small kitchenette. Perfect for our quick trip to Mammoth.

This is the old Sierra Nevada Resort. They have added some new units, which I'm sure are nice. But the rooms in the original hotel are in need of updating. We've stayed there twice now. The shower diverters didn't work either time and the parking lot on that side is horrendous. You need a 4 wheel drive to navigate it. There are huge pot holes that become mud pits.

Overall it wasn't a bad room, but the problem was that if you book for 4 people, at least those people will have 2 phones that need to be charged. But there are no charging ports. Only one 110v extension cord. In addition, the bathroom door lock didn't work properly and one of the two places for hanging clothes was broken. And apart from the sound of the air conditioner and the small number of nightstands for 4 people, overall it was quiet and comfortable.

I loved it! The staff was friendly but the 1st lady, failed to inform me about all the perks they had in the lobby, like for example, the massage leg therapy bags that they were to borrow after snowboarding, and other things. The restaurant seem t be a bit disorganized but our server was very friendly.
