Just overall bad experience. Pools dirty, especially lazy river. Hot tubs not working. Building itself dated & not well maintained. Do not fall for pics online. Theyvare no where near an accurate representation of property. Maybe when it was brand new. Definitely not now in 2025. Spend those extra dollars on a more up to date place. This place was only decent for price & view.

The property is a mess! When we arrived no towels in the room. The flooring in the room was coming up. We got no maid service the entire week. The pools were consistently dirty and/or closed. Hallways dirty! Overheard an elevator repairman saying he told them months ago to service the middle elevator that was scary to get on. Don't know whats happened to this place but would not recommend. We normally stay at Compass Cove 2 properties down and will return there next trip.

This place is down right horrible.we lost a day of vacation because we had to switch rooms because 1 mold all over the ceiling and 2 the fridge was broken It literally took them all day to do it.the room had a kitchen with 1 pot 1 plate 2 spoons and 2 cups thats it.the second room was alittle better just mold in the bathroom this time,this room had nothing in the kitchen at all.no plates,spoons,forks,pans nothing.srill mold on the lamp shades.the key card didnt work so it would take forever to get the door to open.the drains in the bathroom stayed clogged.asked for towels and wash clothes didnt have any.the lazy pool didnt have any tubes at all and the indoor pool stayed closed the whole week for some unknown reason.the elevators worked when they wanted to.the lock to the sliding door didnt work so if you had small kids very dangerous.huge whole in the ceiling near the pool area like just completely dangerous pieces of the ceiling still falling off on the ground.the way they "fix" the mold issue is to spray bleach on it which we witnessed.the money you spend here you can find something way nicer,cleaner,and safer.all the years we have been coming to myrtle we have never stayed at a worse place.the only thing this place has that is good is oceanfront view thats it.everyday and i mean everyday at least 2 times a dayworker would come and try to get into the room and ask why we were in this room cause it was supposed to be empty and everytime we had to tell them they switched us.

Very unsafe with outlets in the rooms not working, indoor pool waa closed all but 1 day no hot tubs working. Also found a roach in my room. That is just some of the problems. They say no smoking but ii guess some people can't read.

Property needs to be totally renovated. Outside door frame wiggled a full quarter inch were mounted to wall, sweep about half a cup of sand from room floor, full kitchen but not one pan or skillet, or fork, spoon,knife, plate,bowl, saucer, no cups or glasses. Fridge work very good. Pools look dirty, lazy river filthy, all pool area facilities intermentently out of service.

First and foremost, the staff was very friendly and seemed to care about the patrons. Now the bad side of our stay was the rooms were not in great shape. The rooms needed repair, the ac would never turn off or would have to be turned off. The floors were sandy which i know is hard to keep clean at the beach. The sheets had small stains all over. The room was not cleaned or new towels offered while we had our stay. We had to ask for new towels. The indoor pool was out of service until our last day. Many areas had issues and the upkeep was not there.

Our stay started poorly as there were a number of issues with our room. After overhearing our conversation with the front desk we were approached by Deanna who was with the property management company. Not only did she and her GM have our room completely recleaned but they comped us an additional night. New management is working hard to bring tjis resort to what it can be. Great location terrific price for oceanfront suite. We will certainly try Sancastle again in the future.

WARNING!!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

We just checked out of the hotel and we could not be more disappointed. For starters, the hotel looks nothing like what the photos online show. The photos online are of their renovated condos, not the hotel rooms. Second, the room is covered in mold and grime. Photos attached. The ceiling, the curtains, even the pillows! Everything is covered in a layer of nasty and the room smelled like weed from Day 1 of our stay. Third, this NOT A RESORT HOTEL. Nearly every amenity they advertised has been closed for the entire length of our stay. The tiki bar was closed and owned by a different company than the hotel. The indoor pool and two indoor kiddies pools have also been closed our entire stay. Both outdoor hot tubs were closed, and the ice cream stand in the lobby was closed. Fourth, the amenities that WERE open were disgusting, or didn’t work, and their posted hours were never followed. Trash litters the pool deck, and outdoor pool was murky, and the lazy river never flowed. It was a still body of water that didn’t move in any direction. They also require you to be in an intertube to use the lazy river, but didn’t provide any. The pool towels were never stocked either, and the few sitting in the cabinet were balled up and dirty. I have more to say, but I’ve run out of characters. DON’T STAY HERE.

Sandcastle has really went downhill. Stayed here several times. They gave me the wrong room, I booked with kitchenette and did not receive. Mold coming through the fresh paint on ceiling. Room was clean & smelled good though.Hot tubs, indoor pool, bar, restaurant & kiddie pool all closed the entire stay. Part of ceiling near lazy river had falling down. About a 8'x16' sized eara. Beds felt like you was laying on a sheet of plywood with a mattress cover over it. TV had lines in it. Remote to TV, part of it was missing, but still worked. No dishes at all. The staff was hateful (at times). The deck where you wash sand off your feet that lead to and from the Beach had 3"of sand on it at all times. Maid never once knocked on door to offer clean towels and rags. You had to go get them at service desk. I'll never stay here ever again. This is my 1st bad review at any hotel in Myrtle Beach that we've every stayed at. DO NOT STAY HERE !!!!

Our vacation was great, but our lows of the trip all involved this unsanitary and very rundown hotel. The first thing to see all the pools closed and we were told will be fixed by the end of the day, the story we heard every day during our stay! We booked 2 rooms, and the first room had a black mold all over the ceiling. The bathroom door looked like it belonged in a jail. The standing shower floor was in pieces. The kitchen light didn't work, and the balcony sliding door was broken. Went to the front desk to speak to the GM who was the rudest of them all, showed no sympathy, and her only solution was to send maintenance to look at the kitchen light. Due to the long drive away from home leaving was not an option so we opted to cancel that room which was hard to due to the reservation being booked by Expedia and opted to join our 3 kids in that second room we had reserved. So now we were crammed, but at least not as much mold as the previous room. This rooms view to the beach spectacular but the sliding door also broken in this room to the point where my husband got a cut on his finger trying to close the door.The microwave rusted and worked for 2mins and then shut off. Waited 3 days for requested utensils to finally be provided. Not once did anyone service our room. We requested towels and were told daily that none available right now. We requested sheets to change them ourselves, and as im writing this review from home, we are still waiting for these sheets.

Because it’s a tourist hotel idk why i would’ve expected more but the room wasn’t clean you can tell they don’t mop the floors our room floors were so gritty and sticky the lamps had stains on them the bathtub had build in mold stains on them but the staff was really nice tired really hard to accommodate everyone and you can tell
