I would not stay at the Troubadour again, and would not recommend it to anyone. i let the front desk know my flight would be late. When i got there the entire building was pitch dark. There was no sign to tell me where to even enter. I finally figured out how to get in and there was nobody there. After waiting a few minutes someone came out and must have called the night clerk. She had been sleeping it looked like. She was very rude and didnt explain anything to me. The advertisement said there was a rooftop lounge. Im there sunday thru thursday. The lounge is open friday and saturday. The ad said, restaurant, bar and free breakfast. NOTHING! There was no food. Not even the breakfast. Im disabled and had to walk somewhere to eat. I paid a lot of money for a convenient restaurant, bar, lounge and breakfast and got NOTHING. People were up every night until well after 2-3:00 yelling to each other in the hall. My keurig in my room was broken. What an extreme waste of $800.

The hotel reeked of marijuana. Valet was long wait and problems every time we needed car. Our car reeked of marijuana the first 3 days from valet. There was a domestic dispute close to our room and police had to be called. Will never stay there again.

Rates were way too high for what the hotel offered.. the rooftop bar was closed for majority of trip, did not open until after 6:00PM everyday. The bar downstairs was never open. Room was quiet, crew came to service room upon request but did not change sheets as requested. For a few dollars more I could have stayed at NOPSI and had more amenities available to me..

Pretty affordable place to stay. Located close enough to walk to the French Quarter. Decent selection of restaurants and coffee within the vicinity. Rooms were showing their age, but still in good condition. Hotel bar or restaurant had very limited hours.

Very Clean and Cozy, but there’s issues for sure

The hotel itself is very clean and very nice. The rooftop bar was very nice and the guy who was working it was very nice and attentive. The hotel is undergoing a change in ownership, and there seems to be a big lack in communication between certain areas of operations in the hotel. The staff there either seemed like they didn’t know, or didn’t care to know about recent changes in valet policy and other things. We also had to swap rooms late the last night of our stay because our toilet stopped working. I would most likely not return here for anything longer than a night.

The hotel didn’t even have an ice machine, they gave us bagged ice at the front desk with great value ziplock bags. The restaurant only opened for breakfast it closed at 10:30 AM. The rooftop bar didn’t serve food either so you literally had to either leave for food or order something. It’s definitely not worth 300 dollars a night at all. Plus only one of the elevators didn’t work, only 5 people could get on the elevator at a time, they had no bellhop so we literally had to carry all our luggage to and from the room by hand. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone especially for the price.

This hotel is suppose to be a 4 hotel, but it falls short of that. It’s a 3 star hotel at the most. The woman who checked us in lacked customer service. Didn’t bother greeting us and just acted like she didn’t care to be there. All she did was check us is and that was that. Usually you would at least asked if the guest needed any parking services or even direct the guest to the elevators. The other staff individuals were a lot nicer. The elevator reeked of various unpleasant smells. I had to hold my breath at times as not to gag. The room itself is just outdated and dusty. There were water stains on the ceilings of the bathroom. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way. There were paint chipping off of walls in various places of the room. How hard is it to just patch it up with some paint? The rug felt damp.There were dust particles in various parts of the room. The room doesn’t even have the basic amenities such as an iron. There isn’t an ice machine. They give you a sack of ice if you ask someone at the front desk for some. Parking is $50, but we were able to find parking around the hotel to avoid paying that fee. Just make sure to read the signs, as the parking authorities are on top of giving out tickets. The positive side is that housekeeping is available daily to make beds and replenish towels. I wouldn’t stay here again. There are so many other hotels in New Orleans to choose from that may be in better shape and condition. I would pass on this and keep looking.

I was very disappointed that the rooftop bar was not open as that was a main reason to choose this hotel. Also, there were loud residents in the hall most of the night. Hotel was beautiful, room was comfortable and clean, staff were friendly and helpful.
