The bathroom was so old and outdated that it looked filthy. I don’t think it actually was filthy but appeared so. There was a big bug or roach in the bathroom each day, not the same one because we would get rid of it. The temperature was awful the first day we could not get it to go below 75 and by the time we woke up in the morning, it was at 79. We called maintenance. They said there was nothing they could do about it, all we could do is open the window. I asked to switch rooms and they said we could not. So we open the window whenever we were in the room for a few minutes which would get it back down to about 75. But it remained hot all the time. When I tried to speak with them at check out about this, as we stayed three days, they rushed us through checkout told us they’d take the fees off of our bill and rushed us out the door. I thought we should have been refunded a bit more than that, but they didn’t give me the chance to talk about it as they rushed me away from the counter.

Some of the front desk staff were pretty rude especially at checkout when we were exhausted and trying to ask questions about billing and not understanding completely. I’ve got 2 big charges over 1200 pending on my credit card and hopefully 1 is removed and the $300 hold is removed from the other like they’ve said it should. Still unsettling to see that on your list of charges. Housekeeping was very kind. Our first time in the room we noticed dirty sheets with yellow staining and hair/hairballs so we requested fresh sheets and those came quickly to be replaced. It was pretty noisy - loud people in the hallways and a lot of other guest room doors slamming but by midnight it wasn’t too much noise. We got no complimentary waters even when we asked so we had to purchase them - a little over $6 per water bottle at the hotel. I’ve stayed in Manhattan several times over the years and this was my worst experience so far. Not a fan of the Times Square area or this hotel and the experience between this hotel and other stays was like night and day. I will not return here.

Staff was friendly with efficient and quick check in and check out, however the room wasn’t very clean. The bed was hard and worn out. Our rooms bathroom was in need of some attention with cleaning up caulking and fixing cracks in the group in shower. The shower head had extremely low pressure as well. On the bright side, the location was perfect in proximity to all things NYC
