We loved our stay! The staff are so nice and accommodating! Toby made check-in so easy and was so informative of the property and amenities. Afternoon tea was really nice and breakfast was excellent with great hot options and buffet. Sue was so lovely. We enjoyed sitting outside in the general courtyard and our own with our room The Inn is right on Thames street and close to shopping and dining. It’s a nice oasis and reprieve from the busyness of the street. We would highly recommend and would stay again!!

40 years ago, someone told me this was the best place to stay in Newport. I finally got here. It is a1700s house, well preserved and reflective of the period. There is a newer wing, but we stayed in the original house. Great atmosphere. We were served wonderful breakfasts, and delicious afternoon tea, all included in the roommate. For a unique experience, try it.

Historic property in a great location. The complimentary breakfast in the courtyard was delicious and a great way to start the day. Understand, as an Historical Inn, you may have to climb stairs and the rooms / bathrooms may be smaller than modern properties, but that is part of the charm. Highly recommend.

Francis Malbone House is an oasis in the hubbub of downtown Newport. All the wharves are easily walkable. It was less than 15 minutes to walk to the Elms. On site parking is a huge bonus. Daily breakfast is always delicious. But the best thing about this inn is the staff. They are so friendly and helpful.

You would never know this gorgeous property is steps away from the bustling, somewhat noisy, Thames St. Once you step inside the front door, into the main house, all the chaos disappears. The courtyard in the center of the property is a peaceful place to have morning coffee or rest between excursions. I loved that my husband could walk the docks early while I was still getting ready, then be back for 8am breakfast. And I could shop while he napped. The property has a large entry from the private parking lot in back...easy to unload suitcases. In the room, I was happy to see Farmhouse Fresh products in the bathroom. We also walked into jazzy big band music playing on the radio/phone charger. Nice touch! Throughout the property, it's worth taking a look at the historic art, which seemed to tell stories about early America and the Revolution, all the way to the late 1800s.
